Upon arriving at the embassy, Duncan rudely left without a word, prompting much speculation. Duncan was supposed to support the Zerg; otherwise, he would not have broken the rules to let Ye Chao participate in the Level Five civilization conference. But now, why did it feel as though Duncan's enthusiasm for the Zerg had not only cooled considerably, but their relationship had also become somewhat strained?
The root of the issue probably lay with Violet. Nearly everyone in Emerald City knew that Duncan had once pursued Violet madly, yet Violet had never given him so much as a glance. Now, however, Violet had willingly sought out Ye Luo! Thus, Duncan harbored resentment and turned cold toward Ye Luo. It was rare for personal feelings to affect relations between civilizations, but if it happened to Duncan, no one would find it strange!
This explanation quickly became widespread. Of course, that was a later matter.
The moment Ye Luo entered the suite, Ye Chao and two unfamiliar people—a man and a woman—were already waiting inside.
"Greetings, My Emperor!" Ye Chao saluted first, then took the initiative to introduce them. "My Emperor, this is Chief Constantine of the Three-Eyed Protoss from the Aibute civilization, along with his beloved daughter, Miss Cassandra. When they heard you were coming, they had been waiting here for quite some time."
Ye Luo's gaze fell first upon Cassandra. It was not intentional, merely instinctive. Whether it was Cassandra's peerless beauty or her distinctive aura, he simply could not help looking at her first.
Constantine showed no displeasure at all. Instead, he chuckled merrily, looking so proud and pleased that it was as though receiving others' attention for his daughter was a source of pride for him as well.
Constantine's laughter shifted Ye Luo's attention to him.
Handsome, dashing,
