Background / History

After hurting Riveria and fleeing from her, Ais enters the Dungeon alone. She views herself as a sword whose only purpose is fighting monsters, using reckless combat to suppress her loneliness, fear, and grief. 1 2

Thanatos offers her power during this rampage. Though tempted by her desire for strength, Ais remembers Riveria and refuses him, declaring that accepting his offer would be wrong. Thanatos responds by releasing a strengthened Jet-Black Wyvern against her. 2

Ais fights the Wyvern with tactical precision, targeting its wing and eyes despite suffering severe wounds. Noah intervenes before she dies, defeating the dragon and carrying her to safety. In her injured, confused state, Ais calls Noah “Father.” 3 4
