In no time, Lu Qiming had a general grasp of the intelligence regarding the middle floors of the Dungeon. For him, only the floor boss on the seventeenth floor required any attention, though even that wasn't strictly necessary; if push came to shove, he could just activate Musou and slaughter it outright.
"Well then, let's spend the remaining skill points, fuse Divine Judgment, and get moving!"
Lu Qiming opened the status panel that only he could see.
Name: Lu Qiming Lv16 (500/7000) Mission Countdown: 363 days 18:00 Mission Index: 2500/1000000 Age: 16 Spirit: 16.6 Strength: 16.6 Agility: 21.6 Constitution: 16.6 Class: Assassin Skill Points: 3
He had reached level 16 after slaughtering 2,500 monsters yesterday, which was much faster than anticipated. This was largely due to the fact that a portion of the monsters he killed were elites, providing a significant amount of experience.
He also discovered that after level ten, the experience required for each level-up doubled. However, the corresponding improvements from each level-up were immense; his total stats had each increased by 1.6.
Subsequently, Lu Qiming stopped focusing on his stats and opened the class skill panel.
He tapped on Musou, Godspeed Reaction, and Weakness Insight in succession. During yesterday's battles, Godspeed Reaction and Weakness Insight had allowed him to adapt quickly to combat, clearly perceive enemy weaknesses, and land fatal blows.
As for Musou, although he hadn't used it yesterday, such a trump card for dire situations had to be leveled up; it was his ace in the hole for turning the tide when in danger. As the skill points vanished, all three skills rose to level two.
Musou increased from a three-fold boost to five-fold. As for the mana consumption, it decreased by 0.1 per second—meaning instead of the original 60 mana per minute, it was now 54. Combined with the boost increase to five-fold, he could now maintain Musou for nearly 15 minutes.
The improvements to Godspeed Reaction and Weakness Insight also further enhanced his reaction speed and lethality.
After initially adapting to the upgraded skills, Lu Qiming took Divine Judgment from his waist into his hand.
"Sword guided by the heart, listening to the wind's song. On this path forward, Divine Judgment, are you willing to accompany me?"
As soon as he finished speaking, the Divine Judgment in Lu Qiming's hand hummed incessantly. Runes on the blade lit up, and black aura coiled directly around his hand.
"Good!"
Seeing this, Lu Qiming activated Soul Blade. Colorless soul energy enveloped Divine Judgment, and the two blades flew up, piercing into Lu Qiming's chest and merging into his body.
"Ding! Congratulations to the Host for acquiring the Soul Blade 'Divine Judgment'. Divine Judgment has gained new attributes: [Autonomous Evolution]: As the Host grows stronger, Divine Judgment will automatically evolve and possess the ability to devour other metals to acquire their properties. [Sentience]: As Divine Judgment merges with the Host's soul, its original spirituality grows, birthing initial sentience. It will possess full sentience as it grows stronger. [Soul Blade]: Every attack from Divine Judgment carries soul-cutting damage."
Lu Qiming analyzed the system's notification and summoned Divine Judgment once more. Its appearance hadn't changed much, but it now gave off a feeling of being alive, as if it possessed a soul.
In Lu Qiming's hand, Divine Judgment vibrated and hummed, seemingly thirsting for blood and slaughter to celebrate its rebirth.
"Don't be impatient, I'll let you kill to your heart's content in a moment!"
Lu Qiming's lips curled slightly. He rubbed his palm against the hilt to soothe the eager Divine Judgment before retracting it into his body.
"Eina, I'm heading out! Thanks for the intel!"
Lu Qiming stood up, called out to Eina, who was working at the counter, and walked straight out of the Adventurer Guild.
Dungeon, First Floor.
Lu Qiming watched calmly as ten Goblins surrounded him. A flash of light appeared in his hand, and Divine Judgment manifested.
"Let the carnival begin!"
A bloodthirsty smile appeared on his face. Lu Qiming crouched slightly and vanished from where he stood.
Arc Flash
A silver-white blade light appeared instantly. In the blink of an eye, the ten Goblins were shredded into pieces, turning into black ash and leaving behind only ten magic stones as proof of their existence.
Lu Qiming appeared beside the magic stones, picked them up one by one, and tossed them into the stainless steel basin atop his head. Divine Judgment floated beside him, vibrating constantly, seemingly complaining about why Lu Qiming wouldn't continue the slaughter.
"Divine Judgment! These are spoils of war, we can't waste them! Only with these can I have the money to pay back Tia and buy you precious metals."
Lu Qiming explained earnestly to Divine Judgment. Now that it had birthed sentience, he had to educate it properly; otherwise, what would he do if it grew up crooked? It wouldn't do to only know how to hack people and not how to collect loot!
"?!"
Divine Judgment looked at Lu Qiming, stunned for a moment. Then, hearing Lu Qiming promise to buy it precious metals, it began collecting the dropped magic stones itself and delivering them to Lu Qiming's side.
"Good boy! I'll buy you something tasty tonight!"
Lu Qiming looked at the Divine Judgment floating before him, placed the magic stones it had collected into the stainless steel basin, gripped the hilt of Divine Judgment, and continued deeper into the Dungeon.
Dungeon, Eighth Floor.
Arc Flash, Arc Chain Flash
As the silver-white blade light emerged, nearly thirty Minotaurs were instantly killed. Lu Qiming skillfully picked up the magic stones dropped on the ground and a small bull horn.
This is a drop from a Minotaur.
"Already on the eighth floor; let's aim to break through to the twentieth today!"
Lu Qiming raised Divine Judgment in his hand, a bloodthirsty grin fixed on the other monsters rushing over from not far away.
"Death-Strike Slash!"
A massive blade aura flew out with the swing of Lu Qiming's arm, and every monster charging toward him was cleaved in two, dissolving into black ash!
"Hehehehahaha."
Bloodthirsty, terrifying laughter erupted from Lu Qiming's throat as the monsters perished. Divine Judgment vibrated incessantly in his grip, the desire for slaughter surging ever higher.
Dungeon, fifteenth floor.
A group of adventurers, chased by monsters, had ventured into this area and found themselves surrounded by a swarm of Nightmare Spider in an open clearing, with an elite Minotaur pursuing them from behind.
"Captain, are we going to die here?"
A fifteen or sixteen-year-old boy clutching a magic wand looked toward the muscular captain at his side.
"You won't die! At least, not before I do!"
The captain held his shield before his chest, shielding his party members as he tried to retreat toward the edge of the plaza; at least there, with their backs to the wall, they wouldn't have to worry about sneak attacks from behind.
Yet, looking at the dense mass of monsters before them, the captain also sank into despair. Were they truly going to die here today?
No! I have to at least let those kids escape!
The captain looked back at the trembling boy and the other party members.
"In a moment, I'll charge out and hold the front. Stay close to me. Once we break through, run toward the upper floors. I'll cover the rear!"
"Captain!"
The group stared at the blood-soaked captain, stunned for a moment before nodding with difficulty. It was the only way now!
