"Lu Qiming, are you sure you're talking about an Assassin?"
Finn looked at Lu Qiming with a speechless expression. It was his first time hearing of an assassin who chose such methods for an assassination. Shouldn't it be about stealth, poison, and a single fatal blow?
However, the problem was that what Lu Qiming said didn't seem entirely wrong. An assassin only has one goal: to complete the mission by any means necessary. As for the process, who cares, as long as no one finds out?
"Yes, I am indeed an Assassin. And there are predecessors like me, such as King Hassan and Wu Liuqi."
"...And more."
Everyone looked at Lu Qiming in silence. Now they finally understood where Lu Qiming's strange assassin code came from; it was all inherited!
Afterward, the group left the meeting tent in silence and headed toward their own tents, intending to digest what Lu Qiming had just said and change their perspective on assassins.
As for Bete, he walked outside the temporary camp. It was his shift for the first half of the night, but he didn't care about that at all right now; his mind was entirely occupied by whether or not he should wash his hair while standing on his head.
The next morning, everyone emerged from their tents to prepare for the day's expedition.
At this moment, Bete, who had just stepped out of his tent, had damp, silver-white hair that stood up straight like a Saiyan's.
"Bete, what happened to you?"
Tione looked at Bete's novel hairstyle with curiosity. Did he want a change of look?
"Nothing, I just washed my hair!"
Bete replied coolly, turned around, and began packing up his tent.
"Washed your hair?"
Tione looked at Bete's back with curiosity. Why would he suddenly wash his hair, especially on the 35th floor? One had to realize this wasn't like the 18th or 24th floors; there was no water source here.
But thinking that they would reach the 50th floor today if all went well, where they could replenish their water supply, Tione didn't dwell on it and began packing her own things.
Half an hour later, the expedition team set off again.
Lu Qiming remained the vanguard, charging ahead toward the 36th floor.
"Hehehehahahaha. Little treasures, here I come!"
Amidst bloodthirsty, manic laughter, one skeleton monster after another turned into black ash, leaving behind only Magic Stones. Moreover, within the walls of the 36th floor, monsters were being birthed continuously, charging at Lu Qiming with a 'clack-clack' sound.
Blood-red, tangible killing intent shrouded the entire 36th floor, and the endless skeleton monsters had all fallen into a berserk state.
Behind him, Finn and the others watched Lu Qiming's fighting style and truly discovered that he always went for a fatal blow; no monster could survive a second hit from him.
"This guy might actually be an Assassin."
Finn muttered, starting to collect the Magic Stones from the ground. Fortunately, Lu Qiming had made him prepare enough backpacks before the expedition, otherwise, they might not have been able to carry all these Magic Stones.
After all, in their previous expeditions, not every monster after the 20th floor would fall into a berserk state, and the Dungeon's consciousness seemed very eager to kill Lu Qiming, spawning monsters in a constant, endless stream.
37th floor.
This time, Lu Qiming entered the floor alongside Ais and the others. The moment they stepped in, the entire 37th floor erupted. The skeleton monsters that had been wandering around turned around, their eyes glowing red, and charged directly at the group at the entrance.
Just then, the ground of the entire 37th floor began to tremble, as if some massive monster were waking up from beneath the earth.
Rumble. Rumble.
"It's here!"
Ais pressed her left hand onto the hilt of her sword, a pale blue light enveloping her entire body, her face solemn as she stared at the ground ahead.
Boom!
With a loud crash, a small hill dozens of meters high emerged from the ground. A pair of skeletal hands reached out from the hill, prying it apart with force. A monster with pitch-black bones, a giant Magic Stone in the center of its chest, and giant ram-like horns on its head appeared.
"It's finally here, the Dungeon boss, Udaios!"
Riveria murmured as she looked at the massive monster not far away.
At this moment, Ais gripped her sword hilt tightly, her body crouching slightly, and the pale blue light continuously gathered toward the hilt.
"Don't any of you interfere!"
As soon as she finished speaking, Ais drew her sword in an instant and swung it fiercely toward Udaios.
Whoosh!
A massive sword beam flew from the blade as Ais swung it. The sharp beam sliced all the skeleton monsters in its path, along with their Magic Stones, in two. The earth was torn apart, and the high-speed sword beam slashed directly at Udaios.
"Roar!"
Udaios seemed to sense the threat of death. The red glow in its eye sockets flared, and it pulled a giant bone sword from the ground, hacking it fiercely against the incoming sword beam.
Boom!
The moment the blade collided with the sword beam, a massive roar echoed. The terrifying shockwave shattered the ground and kicked up endless dust.
"How is this possible! Udaios actually drew a sword!"
Riveria looked at Udaios, who was shrouded in dust in the distance, in disbelief. It was her first time seeing Udaios wielding a sword.
At this moment, the dust settled, and Udaios held its giant bone sword high, black, ominous energy coiling around the blade.
"Get out of the way, Ais!"
Riveria was the first to notice Udaios's movement and shouted urgently at Ais, who was charging toward the monster.
Behind them, Bete, Finn, and the others raised their weapons, intending to rush in and provide backup the moment Ais could no longer hold her ground.
Alerted by Riveria, Ais noticed Udaios's movements while mid-sprint, but instead of turning away, she accelerated and charged straight toward Udaios.
"Awaken, Tempest!"
As Ais chanted, a denser pale-green radiance enveloped her body.
The next second, all the light converged onto the Despair Sword in her hand. With a powerful push from her feet, she leaped into the air, meeting the massive blade Udaios was swinging down.
That was exactly what it was—a swing. The twenty-to-thirty-meter-long greatsword was aimed directly at her airborne figure, crashing down with immense force.
BOOM!
"Ais!"
The group cried out in alarm. They never expected Ais to choose a direct confrontation against such an attack, and they scrambled to rush toward the scene.
"Wait!"
Lu Qiming blocked the group, pointing toward the site of the clash. Ais's figure emerged from the rising dust; she spun in mid-air to adjust her posture, landing a foot against the ceiling of the 37th Floor.
With a powerful push from both feet, she sheathed her blade and flew toward Udaios once more.
"Draw Sword Strike!"
A low shout rang out, and a tangible blade of light manifested.
Beneath the blade, Udaios—its body covered in cracks and its greatsword shattered—raised its left hand and swung it toward the incoming light.
In an instant, the blade of light pulverized Udaios's fist, carving a path of destruction up its left arm and slamming into the top of its head.
Thanks to Douluo for the 5,000 reward, thanks to Douluo for the 3 monthly tickets, thanks to Turbulent Floating Life for the 1 monthly ticket, and thanks to Dongmu for the 2 monthly tickets.
Thank you to all the readers for your continued recommendation votes and for keeping up with the chapters.
Additionally, because I had to go to the hospital for a follow-up checkup yesterday and today, the DanMachi chapter posted yesterday was from my backlog. Dragon Egg has been on hiatus for two days, but I will resume normal updates starting tomorrow.
I just got back tonight and started writing, but after finishing two chapters of DanMachi, I'm too exhausted to continue, so I'll wake up early tomorrow to write more.
Also, during this new book period for DanMachi, I'm asking for recommendations, monthly tickets, and investments.
Before you continue
