Six thousand years ago, during the Great War.
"I don't want to die. I can't die. Losing because of Schwi is absolutely not allowed!"
The barren earth was covered in deep ravines, crimson lava constantly splashing up from within them like wounds in the land. Inside one such ravine, Schwi, battered and broken all over, looked at the device in her hand, her eyes filled with a longing for life.
She absolutely could not die here. If she died like this, then Riku's plan would fail as well. Without the Star Grail, Riku's body, eroded by the black ash, would surely die.
"Oh my! Scrap metal, still struggling? But you should just be buried underground like the junk you are!"
In the sky, Jibril wore an unrestrained smile as she slowly raised her hand. Black flames appeared in the center of her palm, radiating terrifying waves of power.
The next second, countless black spheres of light fell toward the ground like meteors. Amid the endless explosions, the land began to collapse, the lava began to boil, and one ravine after another was destroyed, then swallowed by molten rock.
"Can't die. Schwi still can't die!"
In the collapsing earth, Schwi swayed to her feet and hurled herself forward as a huge boulder came crashing down above her head.
Crack!
At the last possible moment, Schwi escaped with all her strength. As the price, however, half of one foot was torn away, and a great shower of sparks flashed from the broken section.
"What can Schwi do for Riku now? What should Schwi do? This is the only way!"
The next second, Schwi closed her eyes and initiated a connection request for the first time since separating from the Ex-Machina collective. Far away, within the Ex-Machina cluster, the linked consciousness also received
