Background / History
Xin Mu was known among her friends as the “Ice Beauty,” a wealthy, quiet, and outwardly indifferent girl. She rejected a confession by stating that she already liked someone, later revealed to be Zhang Ruofeng. Her attraction to him began with his contradictory personality: despite his cold exterior, she noticed his absent-mindedness, occasional silly smiles, and hidden gentleness. 1 7
She and Zhang Ruofeng are transported from their original world to Orario. Frightened by the unfamiliar environment, Xin Mu abandons her usual composure and cries in Zhang’s arms. She joins the same Familia as him, unwilling to enter another one if it would separate them. 3 4
As an adventurer, Xin Mu initially supports Zhang during Dungeon expeditions, then gradually develops into a capable combatant in her own right. Her early growth is slower because she spends much of her first Dungeon day assisting him, but her otherworld skill gives her exceptional long-term potential. 7 13
Repeated injuries and encounters with death expose her to the Dungeon’s brutality. Perman warns her that, as a beautiful woman from another world, she could become a target if she remains weak. Xin Mu accepts the need to become strong enough to protect herself rather than relying entirely on Zhang. 18 33 34
Appearance
Xin Mu is described as an exceptionally beautiful young woman whose cold aura and restrained expression earn her the nickname “Ice Beauty.” Her long hair is a frequent focus of Zhang Ruofeng’s comforting gestures. 1 3
- Usually maintains a calm, expressionless face.
- Originally wears modern clothing: capri jeans, a white short-sleeved shirt, and a casual ponytail. 17
- Later wears dresses and makeup more often, including one of Fura’s light-blue dresses. 36
- Equipped for training with armor, bracers, and elbow guards. 41
Personality
Xin Mu is quiet, self-contained, and indifferent toward matters she considers unimportant. Her reserved nature is partly attributed to her similarly quiet parents and a smooth, privileged upbringing. Despite this, she is highly determined once she commits to something; she once spent two days grinding a game alongside Zhang Ruofeng until reaching level 60. 5 7 26
She is deeply attached to Zhang Ruofeng and trusts him enough to show fear, vulnerability, jealousy, and affection that she conceals from most others. She recognizes both his gentleness and the dangerous side he hides from others, making her unusually perceptive of his moods and past. 3 14 23 40 41
Although initially inexperienced with real combat and shaken by bloodshed, Xin Mu is resilient. She continues fighting after being stung, cut, exhausted, and frightened, and actively asks for further training rather than retreating from hardship. 18 25 26 43
