Talented People Could Do Whatever They Wanted?

Yukino Yukinoshita sitting in front of Li Yu was rich, and now Asuna Yuuki behind him was rich too.

He was now surrounded by rich girls. Did that mean he could live off them? After all, that was a quick way to make money!

Mulling over these strange ideas, Li Yu made his way to his seat.

Asuna Yuuki saw the student in front of her arrive and put down her book to greet him. "Hello, classmate. My name is Asuna Yuuki. I just came to register today."

She introduced herself first, then explained that she had only come to register today.

"I'm Li Yu. Nice to meet you!" Li Yu nodded in greeting, then sat down at his desk.

"Li Yu, I look forward to getting along with you!" Asuna silently committed his name to memory.

"Likewise." Hearing Asuna Yuuki, Li Yu replied without turning around, then took out his phone and started playing with it again.

Watching him, Asuna was a little surprised. He was already playing on his phone? He was so casual about it?

Li Yu's behavior seemed a little out of place among their classmates. Everyone else was either reading, meditating with their eyes closed, or refining their True Qi.

Meanwhile, Li Yu was playing on his phone. He really was a one-of-a-kind classmate.

Asuna glanced at the things Li Yu had brought with him and noticed a sword resting beside him.

Seeing the sword and the video Li Yu was watching, Asuna suddenly understood. He was studying.

But was that kind of studying really useful? The lessons taught online probably weren't all that effective, were they?

Thinking this, Asuna didn't disturb him and instead lowered her head to continue reading.

As time passed, more and more students arrived. Suddenly, Li Yu seemed to start talking to someone—someone beside her?

"Good morning, Kato." Li Yu's voice sounded, but he was speaking in the direction of the girl beside her. Asuna instinctively turned to look.

Then she noticed that someone had appeared beside her at some point.

And there was something strange about her! Asuna stared at the girl beside her in astonishment.

"Good morning, Li Yu. And... good morning to you, too. I'm Kato Megumi." Kato Megumi greeted Li Yu, then turned to Asuna, who was looking at her in astonishment.

"H-hello?" Asuna Yuuki was a little bewildered. When had this classmate arrived?

"My talent is a little unusual, so people don't really notice me. Sorry for startling you." Kato Megumi seemed to notice Asuna Yuuki's astonishment and quickly explained.

Hearing that, Asuna immediately understood. So that was it. It was because of her talent.

"You didn't startle me, I was just surprised. If Li Yu hadn't been talking to you, I might not have noticed you at all..." Asuna was now quite interested in her deskmate.

It seemed she was from Sakura District, too. What luck! Asuna had been worried that she might not fit in at her new school or have anyone to talk to.

But now it seemed there was no need to worry. She had randomly sat at an empty seat and already met someone from home.

The two girls sitting together began chatting, and Kato Megumi was curious about why Asuna had only arrived today.

"I came from another city, so it took me a while." Asuna didn't hide anything when Kato asked.

She had been caught off guard when she received the notice that she would be transferring to another school. That was why she hadn't come right away yesterday and had waited until today.

Asuna Yuuki had actually arrived yesterday afternoon, but it had already gotten late by the time she'd settled everything.

"You came from another city? Our principal's pretty impressive." Li Yu had overheard Asuna and was astonished.

The principal's reach was something else. He'd thought getting students from a few nearby schools was impressive, but apparently the man's influence extended to other cities, too.

Asuna didn't know how to respond. After all, Li Yu wasn't wrong.

"Well... the principal really is an impressive person." She didn't know much about the principal Li Yu was talking about, only that he was very capable.

Otherwise, he wouldn't have been able to gather so many talented students and put them all in this class.

Li Yu nodded and said nothing more. He had no interest in looking into important people. Right now, all he could think about was learning that flashy sword technique and making money!

After watching short videos for a while longer, Yukino Yukinoshita arrived and went to her seat. She was a little surprised when she saw Asuna Yuuki.

"I didn't expect you to come here, too." She and Asuna Yuuki knew each other. They were peers from the same social circle. They hadn't talked much, but they were acquainted.

"Yeah, I didn't expect you to be here, either." A flash of delight crossed Asuna Yuuki's eyes when she saw Yukino Yukinoshita.

This really was a pleasant surprise. She hadn't expected to run into someone she knew here.

Yukino nodded and sat down, but when she saw the sword beside Li Yu, she paused.

"Why are you learning swordsmanship?" Did being talented mean you could do whatever you wanted? Wasn't this guy supposed to be learning martial arts?

"It's a saber, a Tang Dao, not a sword!" Li Yu immediately corrected her.

The weapons used in Sakura District were merely imitations of the Tang Dao. It was the ancestor of their katana, after all.

"A Tang Dao? I see. That explains it. But aren't you still training in martial techniques?" Though Yukino had been corrected, she didn't dwell on it. She simply made a note not to make the same mistake next time.

"I've already learned everything I need to, and I think I can come up with an even stronger sword technique. So there's no harm in studying it. It'll only take a few days, anyway." Li Yu answered Yukino Yukinoshita while watching the video.

Yukino Yukinoshita had nothing to say to Li Yu's humblebrag. So having talent meant you could do whatever you wanted, huh?

"If we have practical training this afternoon, let's fight again. This time, I want to try out the moves I've learned." Only then did Li Yu look up at her, his eyes shining.

Faced with Li Yu's challenge, Yukino Yukinoshita rolled her eyes at him. As she sat down, she refused. "I don't want to fight you. Go ask Asuna. She uses a sword, too."

Stop making her suffer. Just thinking about how Li Yu had punched her without hesitation yesterday made her stomach ache.

And now he wanted to use a Tang Dao? Could she even fight him? She was genuinely afraid he might suddenly slash her with it. That would be dangerous.

Fighting Li Yu wasn't exactly a pleasant experience, so she refused. If he wanted to use a weapon, he could go fight Asuna!
