Drawing Magic Arrays Was a Lot of Work

Li Yu got the materials and immediately began preparing them. He found some tools and started grinding the Crystal Cores into powder.

He had to be extremely careful with this step, using his own magic power to shield the Crystal Cores and prevent their power from leaking out as he ground them.

If that happened, the Crystal Cores would be ruined, and a lot of money would go to waste.

Li Yu worked with great care. The sight left Asuna and the others amazed. He really had to do all that?

Under Li Yu's careful hands, the Crystal Cores were ground into powder, giving off a blue glow. Just from their appearance, it was clear they were of excellent quality.

Once he'd finished grinding them, Li Yu moved on to the second step: adding the remaining materials in the proper order to make sure they wouldn't affect the Magic Stones.

"How can you tell?" Asuna watched Li Yu's work intently and couldn't help asking.

"By the glow. Didn't you notice? I've added several different materials, but that pale blue glow is still there. You'd see it more clearly if you drew the curtains." Li Yu didn't keep it to himself. He explained it to Asuna.

Hearing Li Yu's explanation, Asuna thought it over and found it made perfect sense. No matter what Li Yu did, that glow remained.

"I see. This is so complicated. Just watching you work gives me a headache." They were only using a few materials, but there was a lot to learn.

"Then why did you think it cost so much?" Li Yu teased as he continued preparing the materials. Finally, he added the mercury.

The materials in the basin were now ready. They glowed, and their quality was excellent.

"Done. Now I just have to draw the array. Let me check the feng shui here." With that, Li Yu got to work.

He closed his eyes and sensed the flow of magic throughout the room. After determining the directions, he took out the brush he'd prepared earlier, dipped it into the mixture, and began marking the floor.

Once he'd settled on the positions, Li Yu got down on the floor and started drawing.

Everyone watched as Li Yu slowly traced out the lines, barely blinking. The whole thing looked incredibly complicated. He began with the four points he'd chosen, then drew the lines in a specific order.

Asuna and the others couldn't make heads or tails of it. They'd thought you could just draw a circle and add the pattern inside, but they hadn't expected it to be so complicated.

The circle didn't appear all at once. Instead, it was formed by all the different lines within it. One mistake would render the entire Magic Array useless—or even make it explode.

"This is so complicated!" Asuna complained, her head aching as she watched Li Yu draw with such concentration. She hadn't expected Position Magic to involve so much.

"If it weren't complicated, hiring someone to draw a Position Magic Array wouldn't cost so much. The labor costs more than the materials." Yukino Yukinoshita understood perfectly well.

There was a good reason for the high price. Seeing Li Yu draw made that clear. Even if you wanted to learn, you might not be able to.

Li Yu spent over half an hour just drawing the entire Magic Array. The whole time, he had to keep his mind completely focused.

Asuna and the others watched for half an hour, too. When Li Yu finally finished the array, they all breathed a sigh of relief.

"Now for the last step!" Li Yu set the tools he'd used outside the Magic Array, then stood in its center.

Asuna and the others watched without blinking. Suddenly, magic power surged from Li Yu.

The next moment, it sank into the Magic Array beneath him. The room lit up as though someone had turned on a light, and a pale blue glow filled it.

The magic power Li Yu had infused began spreading along the patterns he'd drawn, forming a Magic Array that covered the entire room.

Li Yu stood in the center and carefully studied the array beneath his feet. Once he was sure everything was in order, another enormous Magic Array suddenly appeared above his head.

The three of them blinked. What was he doing? The question had barely formed in their minds when they got their answer.

The Magic Array above Li Yu suddenly dropped, hurtling straight toward the array on the floor.

"Vmmm!" They heard a resonant hum, followed by a gentle breeze. The light in the room vanished in an instant.

"Done!" Li Yu clapped his hands after finishing, finally feeling as though a weight had lifted from his heart.

At his words, everyone looked down at the floor. There wasn't a trace of the Magic Array left.

Even the lines Li Yu had drawn earlier were gone. Asuna stared in amazement, crouched down, and touched the floor.

"Has the Magic Array fused with the floor? Is that all there is to it?"

Li Yu nodded at Asuna's question. Then he crouched down and fed magic power into the floor. "Look. As long as you put magic power into it, the Magic Array will activate."

As Li Yu spoke, everyone watched him channel magic power into the floor. The Magic Array slowly appeared, and in an instant, it lit up the room once more.

This time, though, it wasn't as dazzling as when it first activated. The light was much calmer, and everyone clearly felt the same sensation they'd experienced on the school's third floor.

"That's incredible. How long will this Magic Array last?" Asuna's eyes shone as she looked at the activated array. She was very pleased with it.

"It can be activated for eight hours a day, and it should last about two or three years. After that, you'll have to draw it again. It's not perpetual motion, after all!" Li Yu estimated the array's usage time and lifespan for her.

"That's more than enough!" Asuna nodded, satisfied with his answer. Two or three years would be plenty; she might not even need it for that long.

"When you want to use it, just channel magic power into it. Of course, if you don't mind shortening its lifespan, you can keep channeling power into it even after the Magic Array disappears." Li Yu stood up and dusted off his hands, explaining the precautions to Asuna.

Asuna nodded as she listened. She understood. When she was home, she could just leave it activated; she wouldn't need it for that many hours anyway.

Having made up her mind, Asuna immediately took out her phone and transferred ten thousand yuan to Li Yu. The job was done, so it was time to pay him.

With a bright smile, Asuna said, "Thanks for all your hard work, Li Yu~!"
