About ten minutes later, the classroom was packed, and their homeroom teacher, Zhang Li, walked in.

Li Yu kept watching the students coming in. Aside from Yukino Yukinoshita, there didn't seem to be anyone else he recognized.

Since this was his first time in the world of anime, Li Yu couldn't really recognize anyone. Perhaps he'd find out when the teacher called roll.

"Everyone's here. From now on, you'll all be students in this class. Some of you came from nearby schools, while others are from this school. I hope you'll all get along." Zhang Li looked at the students below and briefly explained the situation.

Besides students from their own school, this class also included students from other schools. The principal's reach was greater than Li Yu had imagined.

The principal had used his authority to gather all the gifted boys and girls from several nearby high schools. He'd managed it in just over two hours.

That showed how much influence the principal wielded. The other schools hadn't dared raise a fuss; they'd simply sent their students over.

"Teacher, why is that? Were students from other schools transferred here too?" someone asked, raising a hand.

Many of the students had the same question. They wanted to know what was going on. Suddenly having so many classmates from other schools was simply outrageous.

"Our principal is the highest-ranking administrator for this district. He plans to gather all the most gifted students in one class and nurture them together." That was all she needed to say.

Everyone understood. The principal had directly used his authority to bring over the best students from the other schools.

That was why they'd all gathered in this class. Otherwise, students from different schools wouldn't have ended up together.

The class fell silent at her words, but the homeroom teacher's next announcement soon got everyone's attention.

"From now on, you'll be taught by the best teachers, and the school will provide you with the best resources you need." The homeroom teacher's lips curved into a slight smile as she looked at the students below.

If all went well, this class would prove successful and become a permanent fixture. The school would do the same every year from then on.

They'd bring all the most promising students together in one class, devote resources to them, and cultivate even better talent.

As the homeroom teacher of the first Special Class, she felt a lot of pressure. If she didn't do a good job, it could affect her teaching career.

But if she managed to lead the class well, the benefits went without saying.

The specialized subjects would be taught by specialist teachers. Her job was to teach the students how to be good people.

She was about to call roll and make sure everyone knew their classmates' names, just like the first lesson of a new school year.

At the homeroom teacher's words, the students began introducing themselves, starting with the first group.

"Hello, everyone. My name is Zhang Jian. You can call me Jian." The first student stood up, introduced himself, and sat back down.

A beauty like Yukino Yukinoshita naturally drew plenty of attention. There were other pretty girls in class, but everyone was still more interested in Yukino.

"Hello, everyone. I'm Yukino Yukinoshita, and I'm from Sakura District. Pleased to meet you." Once she'd finished her introduction, she sat down.

Quite a few students quietly memorized her name. This lovely girl would be their classmate from now on.

Since Li Yu was sitting by himself, he was next after Yukino Yukinoshita finished introducing herself.

After Li Yu sat down, the person behind him stood up and said, "My name is Kato Megumi. I'm from Sakura District."

Li Yu had thought the introductions were over, but when he heard the voice behind him, his face filled with question marks.

He turned around instinctively and saw a short-haired girl. Li Yu froze when he saw her.

Saint Megumi was here too? What was going on? When had she come in? What kind of ridiculous talent was this?

Li Yu noticed that after she introduced herself, no one in the class except the homeroom teacher seemed to look her way.

Everyone was unconsciously ignoring the girl. Li Yu found this astonishing.

Li Yu turned to look at her. A flicker of disappointment passed through her eyes, then she noticed him watching her.

Kato Megumi blinked. A subtle feeling suddenly rose in her heart. Had this person noticed her?

"All right, that's everyone. Get to know each other, and classes will officially begin this afternoon!" After listening to the introductions, the homeroom teacher set down her attendance sheet with satisfaction.

A few students still hadn't arrived, but most of the class was here. Everyone would probably have shown up by the time classes began that afternoon.

After giving the students their instructions, the homeroom teacher left the classroom. The moment she was gone, the room grew lively.

Li Yu turned to Kato Megumi and said, "That's one ridiculous talent. Anyone who isn't much stronger than you can't even notice you. Even people stronger than you would probably ignore you without realizing it."

He stared intently at Kato Megumi. A faint, unusual aura seemed to emanate from her, reducing her presence to the bare minimum!
