On the grasslands along the Empire's northern border.
There were none of the usual nomads grazing their herds, only a troop that had stopped to camp.
[Human, grill some meat for me.]
Mikael said, "Why should I? Aren't you the ruler of dreams? Why not just go back to your dream?"
[Hmph, do you think I'm stupid? We Dreamveils sleep for a hundred years at a time. It's not as convenient for us as it is for you humans.]
Mikael said, "What a useless creature. You can't even decide when to wake up. I'm starting to doubt whether you're really a Super Dangerous Species."
[If I could control it, I wouldn't have been killed once by your First Emperor back then.]

[Where else do you think that Imperial Arms capable of controlling land-based Dangerous Species came from? It was the leftover shell I shed when I "died."]
As one human and one Dangerous Species bickered back and forth, Falan and Milok could only look on helplessly.
After all, this was a "divine beast"-class Super Dangerous Species. It was among the first creatures created by one of the world's twin gods of life and death—the being no longer known to humanity, whom this Dreamveil called the "Creator."
Dreamveils were rulers of dreams while asleep, beings closest to the Creator. They had once been the original kings of all life on land; even humanity had initially submitted to them. That was why Dreamveils usually slept for a hundred years at a time.
The length of their waking periods differed among the five Dreamveils, though such periods were generally short. After all, when one could become the Creator of a dream world, who would want to remain in reality as the king of land-based Dangerous Species?
