...I am a divider...
November, 39th year of Konoha.
The war hero of Konoha, Anbu captain, and White Fang Hatake Sakumo, who shook the ninja world, committed suicide, sending shockwaves through the entire shinobi realm.
Some were happy, some were worried, some were saddened, and some were delighted, but most were simply surprised.
Of course, there were many who rejoiced. Upon hearing the news, the majority of ninjas in the world were overjoyed, clapping their hands in celebration.
White Fang had rampaged across the battlefields of the Second Great Ninja War, killing too many people and making too many enemies. His enemies couldn't touch him, and the war couldn't break him, yet in the end, he died during a time of peace for such a ridiculous reason. Because it was a suicide, he didn't even qualify to have his name inscribed on the Memorial Stone after death—it was a complete joke.
White Fang was dead, and everything was beyond repair.
The atmosphere in Konoha became oppressive. The previous wanton discussions and whispers vanished. People walked the streets in silence, their moods complex, not knowing how to face the situation.
The tears they shed now were just the water that had flooded their brains back then!
In the eyes of Suifeng, they weren't stupid, dull, or foolish—they were just evil!
Simply evil.
When White Fang was in his prime, they were jealous, so when White Fang fell on hard times, they kicked him while he was down. Once White Fang died, they realized the village had lost a powerhouse and its strength had diminished, which harmed their own interests, so they naturally fell silent.
Such is human nature; it is beyond reproach!
"Suifeng, Suifeng, are you really going?!"
In the Uchiha compound, Suifeng walked with his hands in his pockets, Obito following behind, looking worried, yet also somewhat excited and anxious.
"Why wouldn't I? I just don't like the look of that guy. If I don't teach him a lesson, my mind won't be at ease!"
"But won't this be bad? If the Military Police Force catches us, we'll be locked up. And what if the Anbu...?!"
"I didn't ask you to follow me, so what the hell are you afraid of!" Suifeng saw right through this guy's cowardly nature.
"That's not what I meant, I mean, I mean...!"
"Hmph, stop talking. If you're scared, you're scared. There's nothing to talk about."
"Who's scared? I'm going!" Obito's brain was too short-circuited to handle a provocation. "By the way, should we call Kakashi?!"
"So, is your brain filled with water?!" Suifeng whispered, "Kakashi isn't in the mood for this right now, and besides, would it be appropriate for him to go?!"
"Oh!"
One sentence shut Obito right up.
"Wait, that's not right. What do you mean my brain is filled with water? Your brain is the one filled with water, I...!"
Feeling dissatisfied and uneasy, Obito followed anyway.
In an ordinary residential house in Konoha.
Chunin Murakami Ame sat in the room in silence, his mood complex and tinged with a hint of panic.
He never expected things to turn out like this.
White Fang actually died—he committed suicide!
How could this be? That was White Fang! The White Fang of Konoha!
During that mission, he had saved his life, which led to the mission's failure. At first, he was very grateful.
But after returning to the village, he quickly felt an unusual pressure. He didn't know where those rumors came from, or perhaps they were facts all along, but they grew increasingly intense.
At first, they blamed White Fang for abandoning the mission, and then a group of people began to blame him, saying that if it weren't for him, White Fang wouldn't have abandoned the mission.
This increased his pressure tremendously. Facing the pointing fingers and accusations of others every day became unbearable.
Then, a choice appeared.
He didn't even know who the person who approached him was, but that person pointed him toward a path: since someone had to take the blame, it was better for one person to take it than two, especially since it was White Fang, not him, who made the decision at the time.
Under coercion and temptation, and perhaps guided by some genjutsu, he made his decision: publicly apologize, shift all the pressure onto White Fang, and deliver a heavy backstab.
He thought this would make things easier, but in the end, White Fang committed suicide!
Give me a break, you're an elite Kage-level powerhouse, you're the White Fang of Konoha, you're the executioner who made everyone tremble in fear—how the hell did you commit suicide over such a trivial matter? Your mental fortitude isn't even as good as mine? How did you become a powerhouse?
BANG!!!
A loud noise erupted by his ear.
"Murakami Ame, your time is up!"
"What?!" Murakami Ame was startled. He jerked his head up, but before he could see what was happening, he felt a sharp pain in his lower abdomen, and his body was sent flying back several meters by a massive force.
"Oh no!"
Subconsciously and instinctively, his hands began to weave signs. "Who? Who is ambushing me? How dare they! This is Konoha!"
He roared in his heart, his ninjutsu nearing completion, his eyes darting around to locate the enemy.
Blood-red pupils instantly filled his field of vision.
"This is...!"
His thoughts raced, and the scene before his eyes shifted once more.
"White Fang!!"
White Fang knelt on the floor, his torso half-bare, clutching a short blade that he drove ruthlessly into his own abdomen.
One stab, another, and then another...
Blood spread, flowing everywhere until it gradually pooled into a lake of gore.
Fresh blood splattered across White Fang's face, yet his expression remained unchanged; he simply stared fixedly at himself, the corners of his mouth curling into a strange, eerie smile.
"No, no, no, it wasn't me...!"
"Don't do it, White Fang!"
"Aaaahhh~~~!"
Murakami Ame's hand seals faltered, his expression turning vacant before filling with sheer terror.
Demonic Illusion: Hell Viewing Technique
The moment Murakami Ame had formed his seals, he had met Suifeng's gaze, instantly falling victim to the genjutsu Suifeng had prepared in advance.
"Suifeng, this...!"
Watching Murakami Ame on the verge of madness, Obito hesitated.
He had agreed with Suifeng to come and teach Murakami Ame a lesson—no, he had been goaded by Suifeng and dragged along to teach Murakami Ame a lesson.
But he had never expected to encounter a scene like this.
Murakami Ame was an elite chunin, after all; could a ninja capable of going on missions with White Fang really be ordinary?
He was considered a tough character even among chunin.
That was why Obito had assumed that even if they came here, they would face a bitter struggle, and it wasn't even certain that Suifeng would win. Who could have imagined such an unexpected result? This Murakami Ame was far too fragile.
Now, he had actually fallen for a genjutsu.
Having fallen for Suifeng's genjutsu, what should they do next?
He didn't know; after all, this was Konoha, and Murakami Ame was a village chunin. Internal strife was strictly forbidden within Konoha.
Seeing Murakami Ame caught in the trap, he naturally lost his nerve.
Suifeng, however, couldn't have cared less. Seeing Murakami Ame trapped, he sneered, grabbed a rock, and lunged forward, slamming it hard against his head.
BANG!!
In an instant, blood sprayed everywhere.
Murakami Ame let out a wail, the pain jolting him out of the genjutsu.
But it was too late; he was met with a storm of brutal blows from Suifeng. Within a few short breaths, he was pummeled by Suifeng's fists and kicks, unable to even muster the most basic self-defense.
"Stop...!"
A black shadow flashed by, reaching for the back of Suifeng's collar. Suifeng's body shifted slightly, springing backward like a coiled spring to narrowly evade the claw.
"Who goes there?!" he barked, looking at the newcomer with a puzzled expression.
"Anbu Aoari!" The newcomer was dressed in Anbu attire, wearing a mask, his voice chillingly cold. "Uchiha brat, you have assaulted a ninja of this village. Come with me to the Anbu!"
The place where Murakami Ame lived was not remote, and the commotion had now attracted not only the Anbu but also other nearby ninjas and villagers.
"Oh no, oh no, what do I do, what should I do?!" Obito, standing to the side, was as anxious as an ant on a hot pan, at a complete loss.
"Anbu? Hmph, since when is it the Anbu's place to interfere with the business of the Police Force?!" Suifeng remained unfazed, holding his head high.
