Following the sound, Qiusheng turned his head to see a pockmarked little punk, one hand tucked into his trouser pocket, the other swinging wantonly as he leaned toward Ren Tingting.
"Qiang San, is it? If I were you, I'd go home and eat with my mother like a good boy. Otherwise, how about I treat you to some shit?"
Watching the punk's movements, Qiusheng stepped forward without a word, blocking Ren Tingting and forcibly separating Qiang San from her.
"Kid, I know you. Aren't you just that stinking brat who spends all day hanging around the Rouge Shop?"
"If you clear off now, I'll pretend I didn't hear anything. Otherwise, heh heh."
Seeing a tall, handsome youth suddenly appear before him, Qiang San felt a wave of irritation.
Especially after hearing Qiusheng's words, his eyes narrowed, and his triangular eyes filled with pure malice.
He certainly recognized Qiusheng; after all, in the entire Ren Family Town, there was only one Yi Hong Brothel and one Rouge Shop.
These idlers who spent their days doing nothing naturally loved to frequent those two places.
So he had seen Qiusheng before, though that was all it amounted to.
In his mind, however, while Qiusheng looked tall, as someone who had grown up in a rouge shop, he was likely nothing more than a flashy, useless ornament.
With this thought, Qiang San was no longer afraid of Qiusheng's verbal threats. He took two quick steps forward, shoved a hand against Qiusheng's chest, and tried to push him aside in one go!
Yet, Qiusheng remained unmoved, letting Qiang San push all he wanted, but he couldn't budge him in the slightest.
"Hey, I won't say this twice. You'd better get lost right now, or suffer the consequences."
Qiusheng remained calm, but this time, he was at the limit of his patience.
A mere punk shouldn't have required such restraint.
But his Auntie did business in this town; he wasn't afraid of offending these scumbags himself, but he feared the impact it might have on her.
"Kid, what are you acting so arrogant for?"
Seeing that he couldn't push the boy in front of him, Qiang San let out a roar and threw a punch at Qiusheng's face.
Little did he know, this single punch would change his entire life.
"Snap!"
Qiusheng reached out one hand, caught Qiang San's incoming fist, and gave it a sharp twist.
"Crack!"
The sound of breaking bone echoed, followed immediately by a kick from Qiusheng.
A miserable shriek erupted, accompanied by a heart-wrenching howl.
"Ah, my hand, my hand!"
Qiang San collapsed to the ground, rolling about while clutching his right hand.
Under Qiusheng's effortless move, his right hand had been snapped clean.
As Qiang San was kicked aside, a large group of Security Corps members in uniform, carrying foreign rifles, suddenly swarmed out from nowhere.
"Who's causing trouble? Who dares to cause trouble on my turf?"
The Security Corps members had barely appeared when their captain, Ren Wei, walked out, shaking his head and looking incredibly arrogant.
This captain of the Security Corps had a small pistol strapped to his waist, and he approached Qiusheng with his nose in the air, looking utterly conceited.
He first looked at the still-standing Qiusheng, then glanced at Qiang San, who was rolling on the ground with snot and tears streaming down his face, and a smile appeared on his face.
Qiang San was an old acquaintance; the kid loved causing trouble in town, and if it weren't for the fact that he knew how to pay his respects, he would have been kicked out of Ren Family Town long ago.
By that logic, Qiang San was essentially his lackey.
The situation today was clear: his lackey had kicked an iron plate, so as the boss, he ought to do something to win back some face.
Thinking this, Ren Wei instinctively rested his right hand on the iron-cased pistol at his waist.
"Cousin, hurry up and arrest this hooligan! He actually dared to harass me."
Just as Ren Wei was about to take action, a voice that made his very bones melt reached him.
He saw, to his shock, a peerlessly beautiful young girl jump out from behind the handsome youth standing before him.
Her incredibly fashionable attire almost made him drool.
"Cousin, what exactly is going on here?"
Seeing his cousin, Ren Wei felt a surge of joy; finally, he could show off in front of her.
But when his gaze landed on Qiusheng, he immediately felt annoyed.
The kid in front of him didn't look like a good person; could he have had improper thoughts about his cousin?
The moment this thought surfaced, he glared at Qiusheng with a dangerous look while moving closer to his cousin.
"Cousin, I went to the street today to buy rouge and powder. Since I bought so much, Auntie Fang (Qiusheng's Auntie) from the rouge shop asked her nephew to help me carry it back."
"Who would have thought that as soon as we left the shop, we ran into this person, and he actually tried to harass me."
Whether intentional or not, Ren Tingting did not act particularly close to Qiusheng in front of her cousin.
Ren Wei was incensed the moment he heard his cousin's explanation.
In his mind, who in the entire Ren Family Town was worthy of his cousin besides himself?
In other words, his cousin, Ren Tingting, had long been his designated wife.
Now that someone actually dared to harass his wife-to-be, how could he let that slide?
"You bold Qiang San, to actually dare harass my cousin! You truly have the gall to stir up trouble right under my nose."
"Boys, drag this brat back. I'm going to personally teach him a lesson tonight."
Ren Wei cast a vicious glare at Qiang San and waved his hand, signaling his men.
After doing so, Ren Wei immediately plastered a fawning smile back onto his face, preparing to turn around and say a few more words to his cousin.
To his surprise, when he turned around, there was no sign of her; she had long since vanished without a trace.
On the way to Ren Mansion, Ren Tingting pulled Qiusheng along, running forward at full speed.
As it turned out, the moment Ren Wei turned to discipline Qiang San, Ren Tingting had grabbed Qiusheng, who was still watching the show from the sidelines, and bolted toward her home.
Soon, seeing Ren Mansion right before them, Ren Tingting patted her heaving chest with her small hand and spoke to Qiusheng.
"Brother Sheng, I'm sorry. I didn't mean to call you a clerk from Auntie's shop earlier."
"I don't know what's wrong with my cousin, but he just doesn't like me having other friends around lately."
"If he knew you were my friend, he would definitely find a way to cause trouble for you."
"It's fine. But, Tingting, could you let go of my hand first? If people see us like this, they might get the wrong idea."
Qiusheng raised his left hand with a playful smirk, his hand still being tightly gripped by Ren Tingting's right.
