The Nine Heavens and Ten Earths had been the Immortal Domain's neighbor since ancient times. Or rather, many of the Immortal Kings who had established the Immortal Domain had come from the ancient realm known as the Primordial Ancient Realm, the predecessor of the Nine Heavens and Ten Earths.
Before the Primordial Ancient Realm had been shattered, neither of the two worlds stood above the other, and the powerful beings of both worlds maintained close ties.
But as the years turned and time marched on, scarcely any of the powerful beings who had witnessed the founding of the Immortal Domain remained. The relationship between the two realms had long since ceased to be as close as it once was.
The shattering of the Primordial Ancient Realm had reduced its surviving remnants, the Nine Heavens and Ten Earths, to a defensive line against invasions by the Exotic Domain's Undying Kings in the eyes of the Immortal Domain—a lower realm that no longer had any standing to speak with it as an equal.
But no matter how lowly a realm it was, the Nine Heavens and Ten Earths could not, and should not, simply disappear!
Without the Nine Heavens and Ten Earths, how could they contend with the Exotic Domain?
Were they supposed to send cultivators of the Immortal Domain to take the place of those from the Nine Heavens and Ten Earths, slaughtering one another with the creatures on the side of darkness in the Exotic Domain,
