"Move these grains of wheat into the cave warehouse for storage."
After thinking it over for a while, Sylutia made her decision.
Of the 17,000 pounds of "Rare"-quality wheat she had harvested, she would move 15,000 pounds into the cave warehouse. It was cooler there, and the grains had been dried in the sun, so they were less likely to mold or spoil.
Wheat could be stored for three to five years at room temperature if left unhulled. At low temperatures—below 15°C—it could last five to eight years. That was assuming its taste remained unchanged; if a slight change in flavor didn't matter, it could be stored even longer.
The remaining 2,000 pounds of "Rare"-quality wheat would go in the warehouse beside the windmill to be ground into flour, either for sale or for eating.
As for the remaining 3,000 pounds of "Perfect"-quality wheat, Sylutia planned to keep it in the cellar beside her cottage. It was a secure place, and the magic array bearing the Castle Aspect would keep the Emerald Nectar Aspect's aura from leaking out.
Once everything was arranged, the toads began carrying the harvested wheat into storage, carefully separating it into different areas for easier inspection and handling later.
After the harvest, a large amount of straw remained in the fields. Sylutia had the toads save the straw from the "Perfect"-quality wheat. The intact straw from the other wheat would be used as bedding for the toads, while the rest would be woven into mats, hats, and other everyday items.
The scattered scraps of straw would be burned along with the turned soil. This would not only kill any insect eggs, but also add some nutrients to the earth.
After taking care of all that, Sylutia once again had the Alfalfa deep in the soil sprout
