Jiang Cheng, living in Amphoreus with Cyrene, finally heard his Valkyrie system activate, but it failed to detect Honkai Energy in the world. The system began reporting errors, leaving him without a clear way to use its promised abilities.
Jiang Cheng realized that arriving in Nagazora without Honkai resistance or system support would leave him dangerously vulnerable, so he told Cyrene about the coming crisis and offered to take her somewhere they could gain strength. Cyrene agreed, and Jiang Cheng opened the portal to bring her with him.
Jiang Cheng and Cyrene arrived in a modern city, concealed their presence, and sought a way to gain strength against the Iron Curtain. Jiang Cheng approached Raiden Mei at school and invited her to learn the truth about the world, and she followed him into a strange Glazed Realm.
Jiang Cheng explained the Inner World to Raiden Mei, but her despair over her father's imprisonment triggered Honkai Energy that spread across his left hand. He calmed her by clarifying that Raiden Ryoma's fraud was not why he was jailed, and revealed that Cocolia had targeted him and ME Corp.
Jiang Cheng urged Raiden Mei to resist the people who had hurt her and leave the city to uncover the power within her. As they set out with Cyrene, Jiang Cheng chose not to contact Grey Snake for help despite his worsening Honkai Energy corrosion.
Jiang Cheng decided he needed Raiden Mei's Herrscher power to avoid Kevin's orders and pursue the limited-time chance to obtain Jizo Mitama. After Cyrene stole a car and Raiden Mei drove them away, they hit Kiana Kaslana, who confronted Jiang Cheng.
Jiang Cheng tried to get Raiden Mei to safety before she became the Third Herrscher, but Kiana insisted on joining them and vowed to kill Mei if she lost control. Mei then made the same promise, while Cyrene’s strange presence unsettled everyone in the car.
Jiang Cheng, Kiana, Raiden Mei, and Cyrene drove through Nagazora after Kiana joined them, while Kiana noticed Jiang Cheng’s Honkai Erosion and warned him that it could soon kill him. The chapter ended with Cyrene shaken by Kiana’s blunt assessment, while Jiang Cheng remained calm.
Jiang Cheng insisted he trusted Raiden Mei and admitted he also wanted to protect her from being mistreated and captured. When the group became trapped in Nagazora’s traffic amid a citywide hunt for their car, Cyrene suggested driving along the sidewalk, and Kiana prepared to do it despite Mei’s protests.
Kiana drove Jiang Cheng, Cyrene, and Raiden Mei through Nagazora City while they discussed Jiang Cheng’s future sight and Mei’s past choices. After discovering that the city was sealed, the group prepared to continue on foot, but Kiana refused to let Mei carry Jiang Cheng.
Jiang Cheng, Kiana, Raiden Mei, and Cyrene reached the expressway blockade and fought their way through after Jiang Cheng used his prayer to summon the Glazed Realm’s mist. The chapter left Kiana carrying Jiang Cheng while the others attacked the workers guarding the road.
Kiana and Raiden Mei fought the forces trying to stop Cyrene from leaving the city while Jiang Cheng watched and prepared to help. Kiana armed him and sent him after ordinary troops as Mei destroyed the Titan Mechs and halted a helicopter’s gunfire with her electricity.
Kiana explained that innate Stigmata granted instinctive combat abilities, while she and Jiang Cheng fought through the facility’s forces. Raiden Mei continued cutting down enemies to help Jiang Cheng escape, convinced she could not bear his trust.
Raiden Mei erupted in anger and despair as Kiana urged her to face Jiang Cheng’s trust, but Mei insisted she had already ruined his life. Her lightning then descended, leaving the confrontation poised to escalate.
Grey Snake identified Cyrene as resembling Elysia and decided to invite her, while Cocolia prepared to capture the Third Herrscher and unveiled her weapons and a clone of Welt. The clone awakened and declared himself Welt the great.
Kiana urged Raiden Mei to face her problems and agreed to meet her later, while Jiang Cheng and the others escaped the fighting and planned how to survive the coming Honkai. Kiana then challenged Mei to prove she deserved Jiang Cheng’s trust, insisting the future had already changed.
Jiang Cheng and the others fled Cocolia’s forces into the wilderness, but a sudden shock wave separated them and left him disoriented. When he recovered, he saw Bronya overpowering Raiden Mei, despite Mei wielding her lightning-charged katana.
Grey Snake demanded that Cocolia hand Cyrene over to the Serpent, claiming she was necessary to the era and that past mistakes must not be repeated. Cocolia challenged Grey Snake to say what would happen if she refused.
Raiden Mei fought Bronya while resisting the Herrscher of Thunder’s urging to unleash her power, fearing Jiang Cheng would die if she did. As she struggled, Mei told the story of the friend who once promised to stand by her, leaving Jiang Cheng to face the pain of her betrayal.
Jiang Cheng watched Raiden Mei refuse to use more Honkai Energy, even as Bronya and Cocolia cornered them. Just as a lance was about to kill him, Kiana arrived and stopped it with her bare fist.
Cyrene encountered Grey Snake and Xing while trying to reach Jiang Cheng, and Kiana fought Cocolia’s forces as Jiang Cheng rushed to Raiden Mei. Cocolia immobilized Jiang Cheng with an unseen force, leaving him unable to move as pain spread through his body.
Jiang Cheng watched Raiden Mei repeatedly attack Welt despite being badly outmatched, while he struggled with whether to escape and abandon the others. The chapter ended with Jiang Cheng forcing himself to stand as Mei kept getting back up.
Jiang Cheng rejected Cocolia’s attempt to use him, while Cyrene fought to avoid capture and remembered how she first met him. Realizing she shared Raiden Mei’s identity and could not bear to watch Jiang Cheng suffer for her, Cyrene resolved to save herself and help him.
Cyrene sealed Xing and the Titan Legion in spreading pink crystal while declaring that she trusted A-Cheng and would focus on revenge. Meanwhile, Jiang Cheng realized his lack of Honkai Energy resistance should have killed him and forced his hand into a space-time distortion, ignoring the system’s warnings as Cocolia watched.
Jiang Cheng chose to face the flames and thorns rather than flee into the stars, accepting that anger and sorrow mattered more to him than a safer future. As he approached the wounded god in the Path Interstice, its golden blood fell onto him and the First Arrow struck again.
