Sam genuinely felt that way. If Ruby had not bothered saving them, she naturally would not have run into Wu Heng. Her weapon would still be hers, and she would not have been sent back to Hell. Her current predicament had, in truth, arisen because she saved them.

Though Dean was unhappy, he understood that as well. He snorted but did not continue objecting so firmly.

He merely muttered, "Sam, you'll regret this. If you can trust a demon's words, pigs might as well climb trees."

Wu Heng merely shrugged indifferently. To him, whether a low-ranking demon stayed or went was insignificant.

He guided the ghost ship lower, and the tentacles released their invisible restraint on Ruby. "Go."

Ruby looked as though she had been granted a pardon. Taking the knife, she gave Sam a grateful glance, then warily looked at Wu Heng and Dean
