"Kirsty, wake up."
Wu Heng held a document in his hand and gently shook Kirsty, who was fast asleep.
"Mmm, oh."
The girl had expressed her reluctance to part in her own way last night and was still exhausted, but she was stirred awake by Wu Heng's shaking.
Kirsty took the pen Wu Heng handed her and, still dazed, scribbled her name onto the document beside her.
"Go back to sleep."
Wu Heng picked up the document to look it over; it was a property transfer deed, including the four-unit villa, the pet shop, and a check for ten million pounds.
Wu Heng did not transfer all of the Miranda Family's assets to Kirsty because, according to the rewards he had received, he would return to this world again, and he retained the authority to keep his identity as Dean.
Afterward, Wu Heng placed breakfast, the documents, and a letter on the table, gave Kirsty a light kiss, and checked the photograph and crystal ball he was carrying.
He had also made a copy of the photograph of Pinhead Spencer to give to Kirsty, as she was the one who obtained this photo in the original plot.
Having finished all this, Wu Heng set off for the airport in Hatton to catch the 10 o'clock flight to Manchester City.
Nine o'clock in the evening, Manchester City.
Inside the Phil Street subway station.
Wu Heng, wearing a trench coat and carrying a suitcase, compared his surroundings to the map he had downloaded.
According to the markings, the fat man should be behind an iron grate at the junction of the subway tunnel's end and the sewer.
That place was the territory of the Underground Kingdom.
"Sir, please, spare some change!"
A homeless man sitting on the ground, dressed in tattered cyan clothes and covering his legs with half a blanket, spoke to Wu Heng.
"Have you seen this person?"
A 50-pound note was placed into the cup in front of the homeless man.
Wu Heng took out a photo of the fat man from the plot and asked.
"Oh, I've seen him. He came to me asking a bunch of questions about the Underground Kingdom."
The homeless man pointed toward the left.
Wu Heng nodded and followed the direction along the subway tunnel for about 20 minutes until he reached the end.
Fifty meters ahead, a subway train sat idle, its lights extinguished.
Stopping service this early, clearly they have no luck.
Wu Heng felt a pang of pity for them.
"Ah~."
A man's scream suddenly erupted from near the front of the subway train.
Now a blood expert, Wu Heng caught the scent of a thick, metallic tang of blood. He stopped in his tracks and tightened his grip on the black, gold-inlaid suitcase in his hand.
This suitcase was one he had custom-made a few days ago, specifically because he had to board a plane, pass through security, and then enter the subway.
Dangerous items like firearms and explosives were difficult to carry.
To leverage his own physical strength, Wu Heng had designed this suitcase with a fixed handle capable of stopping bullets.
In the middle of the inner side of the suitcase was a leather strap, which could be gripped directly to serve as a shield if necessary.
Sensing something was wrong, Wu Heng slowly backed away, heading toward the passage closest to the subway exit.
Better to avoid trouble; whatever was up ahead—a serial killer or some monster—had nothing to do with him.
After walking a dozen steps, a faint, rapid pattering sound suddenly came from around the corner, like fingernails clicking against the ground.
Wu Heng spun around abruptly, raising the suitcase to strike, but stopped himself mid-motion.
It was just a small white Pomeranian dog that had run up to him.
"Help!"
Accompanied by another man's scream came a guttural roar.
There was a cacophony of barking, human voices, and the squeaking of rats.
"Help, is anyone there?"
A woman with wine-red hair, wearing a floral dress and a white fluffy vest, was running from the rear of the subway car toward Wu Heng.
A flash of snow-white skin bounced rhythmically with her frantic running, as if it were trying to leap out ahead of her.
"Is anyone there?"
The small Pomeranian was startled by the woman's voice; it darted past Wu Heng and scrambled into a one-meter-high square hole in the wall.
Wu Heng also quickened his pace, heading toward the exit.
Elina, the redhead, spotted Wu Heng at this moment and cried out for help in a panic:
"Help me! Someone is chasing me, someone was attacked!"
Wu Heng did not sense any intense dark aura at this time; at the very least, he could be certain that it was not the Cenobites behind her.
After a moment's thought, he realized he had a fallback plan to teleport away at any time, and there was nothing currently following the woman.
Wu Heng decided to stop and ask what had happened:
"Miss, it seems you aren't having a very pleasant night!"
Seeing Wu Heng stop, Elina felt a sense of trust toward the handsome man before her.
Sometimes, physical attractiveness is mistakenly added to one's moral character, though in reality, they are unrelated.
"Help, I'm sorry, I was trapped in the subway. My friend was attacked, do you understand? She tried to force... then the doors opened and she was dragged away. Someone took her, she..."
Elina rambled incoherently.
"Stop! Did you see what it was? Was it a demon, a monster, or a ghost?"
Wu Heng interrupted her nonsense and asked.
"I don't know, it was fast, just like a Werewolf in the movies."
"There is something wrong down here."
Elina pulled out a cigarette, lit it with trembling hands, and took a drag.
"Is that so? In that case, I intend to leave now. Are you coming?"
Wu Heng asked indifferently.
"My friends..." the woman said, sounding worried.
"Go out and call the police, or turn around and go find your friends right now. I won't stop you."
Wu Heng finished speaking and continued walking toward the subway exit, ignoring her.
A gentleman does not stand under a crumbling wall; he had no intention of meddling in other people's business.
Hearing this, Elina stopped mentioning her friends and hurriedly followed Wu Heng.
At that moment, the sound of dense, shrill rat squeaks suddenly erupted from within the tunnel walls, accompanied by the sound of Elina's own voice calling for help.
But Elina was right next to Wu Heng; terrified by the sound of her own voice coming from the walls, she turned pale and ran, dropping her cigarette to the ground.
The small white dog appeared once again, staring intently at Wu Heng and Elina, wagging its tail.
Immediately after, a man and a woman dressed like vagrants emerged from a tunnel alcove, holding daggers. They stood beside the dog and blocked Wu Heng and Elina's path.
Wu Heng came to a halt.
"Leave the case and the money!" the thin man shouted, his eyes bloodshot as he tried to put on a brave front.
These two had no idea what was happening; seeing Wu Heng's fine attire, they actually wanted to rob him.
"Ah!"
Elina screamed in fright, took a step back, and hid behind Wu Heng.
"What use is money to a dead man!"
Wu Heng said coldly.
An ordinary man could naturally never make Wu Heng stop in his tracks.
If he were to brush past this thin man while walking, he could kill him just by the impact.
"What do you m—"
The thin man had only managed to say half a sentence before letting out a cry of pain, his voice abruptly cut short.
