As Ruby spoke, she raised a hand, and a pitch-black humanoid creature the size of an infant, like a living shadow, emerged from her shadow. It stared curiously at Ruby with completely black pupils.
Seeing this, Kelly reached out, intending to touch it.
The black infant immediately bared its mouth like a cat with its fur standing on end, revealing dense rows of sharp teeth.
Kelly hurriedly pulled her hand back in fright.
Ruby withdrew the infant into her shadow.
"This ritual failed, and we've already missed the best opportunity in two hundred years. Perhaps I'll never have another chance to break free of control," Ruby said calmly. "Baal will probably be unsealed before long."
Yet regret showed in her eyes.
She then looked at the four of them. "This time, we crossed paths with that Great Evil Spirit that appeared out of nowhere."
"From now on, it won't just be Baal. That thing will be watching us too."
"These guys are all extremely petty. We won't be able to escape them."
Pablo looked toward his uncle. Hank also nodded solemnly, making it clear that Ruby was not lying.
"Then what should we do?" Kelly asked somewhat blankly. She slightly turned the steering wheel and continued along the road. "There's something else."
"Can you tell us where we should go now?"
"I can't just keep driving around blindly."
"Ash, you only have a head left. Is there really no way for you to recover?"
"Can that Demon Backpack beside you help somehow? Like growing your body and limbs back?"
She stared at Ash's remaining head through the rearview mirror.
