Then he began repeatedly sticking out and drawing back his tongue.
He looked both ridiculous and terrifying.
As the icy aura around her father grew heavier and the sense of being watched intensified, it felt as though the evil spirit was standing right behind her.
Suppressing her grief, Anita got to her feet and yanked at the front door lock, but it seemed completely jammed and would not turn at all.
She twisted and pulled with all her strength, but it was useless.
When she tried to switch hands, she discovered that the latch was loose. The door had never been locked at all—her hand had simply been twisted to its limit.
Yet the door still would not open.
She struggled to pull at the door, feeling the gloomy aura behind her draw ever closer while listening to the strange sound of her father repeatedly flicking his tongue in and out.
