Time flew by, and Bai Sui's days were consistently fulfilling.
To be honest, Bai Sui was quite satisfied with his circumstances in this life. Aside from the occasional longing for his family from his previous life, he felt little sentimentality toward anything else.
Although technology had been highly advanced in his past life, Bai Sui didn't actually like it when comparing the two. After all, his previous life had been far too busy; unless one completely withdrew from society, it was impossible to avoid the endless web of social obligations.
There was so little time in a day that truly belonged to oneself. Since humans are social animals, one could not afford to fall too far behind on information if one wished to interact with others.
His previous life was an era of information explosion, with a staggering variety of news every day. To maintain social relationships, he had to squeeze time out of his already insufficient schedule just to keep up with world events.
Although the Naruto World was materially extremely backward at this time, Bai Sui felt incredibly fulfilled every day from a spiritual perspective.
Without excessive mental exhaustion, no need to stay up late, and the ability to live according to his own plans, he was living quite comfortably.
As for the food, while it was certainly not great, it was filling. The clothing was made of coarse cloth and was quite rough on the skin, but Bai Sui himself did not pursue such luxuries.
As for that wooden bed, after sleeping on it for this long, he had barely managed to adapt. Besides, Bai Sui was gradually replacing sleep with meditation, so it no longer mattered much.
The only thing that still caused Bai Sui pain was using the toilet. No matter what, he could not get used to using leaves or wooden boards for cleaning; it was not only uncomfortable but also unhygienic. Bai Sui had no good solution for this and could only pin his hopes on his cultivation.
After all, once he attained the status of a Human Immortal, he would be able to reach a state where his bowels were free of waste. With that, Bai Sui's motivation for cultivation grew even stronger.
In the blink of an eye, three months passed.
The weather turned to winter. Perhaps due to the climate or other reasons, the war gradually subsided once winter set in.
This brief peace brought a relaxed atmosphere to the entire clan territory, which even the civilians like Bai Sui, who lived on the outskirts, could feel.
That night, Bai Sui practiced as usual. In the stillness, he felt a continuous, unbroken flow; his spirit was joyful, as if intoxicated or bathed in warmth. This was the body filled with yang harmony, the Golden Flower beginning to bloom.
Then, all sounds ceased, and the bright moon hung in the sky. He felt the earth was a realm of light; this was the opening and brightening of the heart, the Golden Flower in full bloom.
Then, his whole body felt full and unafraid of wind or frost. Things that others found dull and uninteresting, he encountered with even greater vigor. Gold built the house, white jade formed the dais; he could breathe life into the decaying things of the world with his True Qi. Red blood became milk, and the seven-foot mass of flesh was nothing but golden treasure. This was the great condensation of the Golden Flower.
In the darkness, he felt he had gained insight:
First, while sitting, his spirit entered the valley. He could hear people talking as if from a mile away, each word clear. The sounds echoed as if in a valley; he heard them, yet he did not hear them. This was the spirit in the valley, which could be verified at any time.
Second, in the stillness, his vision surged, and everything before him turned white, as if he were in the clouds. Opening his eyes to look for his body, he could find no trace of it. This was the empty room producing light, clarity both inside and out, a sign of auspiciousness.
Third, in the stillness, his physical body felt harmonious, like cotton or jade. While sitting, he felt as if he could not stay put and was floating upward. This was the spirit returning to the crown of the head; in time, ascension could be expected at any moment.
These three signs naturally appeared as the golden nature condensed. However, Bai Sui felt this was not the entirety of it; more specific details would require further exploration.
Feeling the warmth of yang throughout his body, Bai Sui decided to take advantage of this perfection of the "Returning Light" to begin matching yin and yang, heading toward the path of a Human Immortal.
With the Golden Flower formed, his primordial spirit and consciousness moved entirely according to his will and intent.
Looking inward at himself, he used his consciousness to guide the True Water in his kidneys, causing it to ripple and gradually rise as True Qi.
It must be said that in these three months, Bai Sui had not ceased his active and passive exercises. His body was now supple, and his internal organs were strong, making this guidance process very smooth.
He guided the True Qi to swirl slowly within the kidney palace, accumulating there. By the time the sky began to brighten, internal observation showed a pool of clear spring water had gathered in his kidney palace.
Bai Sui came to his senses and saw that the day had dawned. He swallowed a mouthful or two of saliva, rubbed his head and face twenty or thirty times, and exhaled the foul, stagnant air that had gathered throughout the night.
He stretched, easing his muscles and bones, and began to prepare breakfast.
The children went to the Fishing Port to help out during the day and came to Bai Sui in the afternoon to learn literacy and common knowledge.
Because Bai Sui had plans to leave the Uzumaki Clan, he intentionally kept a distance from these children despite being kind to them. Firstly, he feared he would be unable to bear the parting when the day came, and secondly, he feared that any oversight on his part might implicate them.
As for the kindness of the Uzumaki Clan in raising him, Bai Sui would not forget it.
Although he could do nothing for now, the future was long. Once he had the ability to protect himself, he would repay the Uzumaki Clan.
Not only that, Bai Sui also intended to search for his parents in this life in the future. Regardless of the circumstances, the debt of birth was hard to repay. If there were any other blood relatives, Bai Sui would also do his best to help them when the time came.
After preparing the ingredients for lunch, the sun approached the zenith.
Under internal observation, the kidney qi rose naturally, like water boiling and steam ascending. The kidney qi climbed slowly, straight into the heart field.
At this moment, he swallowed the saliva in his mouth. Following this, the heart fluid descended to the kidneys to meet the kidney water. Naturally, the heart fluid and kidney qi combined, and thus the Taiji produced fluid.
Using True Qi to cherish the fluid, and True Water to cherish the qi, the fluid and True Water were inherently compatible. Thus, there was True Qi within the fluid, and True Water within the qi. They intertwined and depended on each other, a process known as the "Copulation of the Dragon and Tiger."
Afterward, he swallowed the qi and contracted his external kidneys, causing the three fires to gather into one to nourish and warm the lower field. If there was no fluid, he gathered qi to produce fluid; if there was fluid, he refined the fluid to produce qi. This was called "Gathering the Fire."
At this point, there was truly Qi in Bai Sui's Dantian. This was the root of all his future cultivation—whether it became a pearl, mercury, cinnabar, or the proof of the Golden Elixir, it all started from this moment.
Although he had made progress in his cultivation, Bai Sui showed nothing on the surface. On one hand, his current cultivation was still insufficient; on the other, if he were discovered by the Uzumaki Clan now, he would have no chance to resist, as his origins were impossible to explain.
Bai Sui continued to cook for the children, and in the days that followed, he taught and looked after them while secretly practicing.
The qi in his Dantian accumulated more and more. He continued to practice this way for three years.
During these three years, the qi and fluid in his Dantian constantly transformed. Bai Sui refined them daily, eventually condensing a pill-bead the size of a grain of rice within his Dantian.
Though extremely small, it was extraordinarily miraculous.
Every time it sank, floated, or rotated in his Dantian, it would absorb the surrounding True Qi to strengthen itself. In other words, from this moment on, as long as Bai Sui remained healthy and strong, he would become stronger with every passing moment.
I will not write the specific cultivation process and methods in this book.
If you wish to see them, you can check my other book; the first dozen chapters contain detailed content.
