It had been a long time since he had heard that word.
Before Konoha established its modern ninja education system, there had not even been schools, let alone a position called "principal."
It was only in the years after the war that Ninja Academies began appearing one after another. Aside from Konoha's relatively formal institution, the so-called schools in the other villages were really nothing much.
If little Miyuki had not brought it up, Mizuki would have nearly forgotten about it.
"Miyuki, how do you know so much about the Ninja Academy?"
"Hehe... I worked so hard to find all this out..."
The little girl answered with a proud look on her face, "Information is a ninja's second life. Nagi and I are about to learn how to become outstanding ninja, so of course we can't miss an opportunity like this to train!"
"That's really impressive. But becoming a ninja isn't so easy. You still need to study hard..."
"I know!"
What little Miyuki found most unbearable was how her father usually never cared about anything, but once he started lecturing her, he would go on forever, as if he really were a ninjutsu instructor.
"Father is a ninja too, so why is he different from everyone else? Nagi already knows how to throw shuriken, but I still have to practice running and swimming. It feels so boring—it's nothing like being a ninja..."
"The basics are important. Sharpening your axe won't delay the cutting of firewood! Look at you—you're taller and stronger than the other children. That's the benefit. Only with a solid foundation can you become even more outstanding in the future..."

She had heard those words countless times. Though she did not really care, little Miyuki was a good and obedient child. Whether halfheartedly or reluctantly,
