"You—"
Li Sanhe's eyes widened, and he spat blood again in fury.
He had actually naively believed that Xu Yang had made peace with the Tri-Union Gang. After decades in the martial world, he had been fooled by a young man.
"If you want me dead, you won't live either!"
He drew on the last of his strength and lunged ferociously at Xu Yang, unleashing his surging qi without regard for his own life.
Xu Yang didn't meet the blow head-on. He stepped aside.
Bang!
A thunderous crash rang out. The earth where he had just stood flew in every direction, blasted by the terrifying qi into a pit more than two feet wide.
"Pfft!"
In midair, Li Sanhe seemed to let out his final breath and dropped to the ground with a thud. His powerful aura gradually faded away.
Xu Yang sent a wave of qi at him from a distance. Li Sanhe didn't react.
Still not entirely reassured, Xu Yang worried Li Sanhe might be faking his death. He found a rock and hurled it at Li Sanhe's head from afar. Only after it smashed his skull open and sent his brains spilling out did Xu Yang confirm he was dead.
After searching him, Xu Yang found another twenty-tael banknote and a few taels in loose silver. Apart from those, there was nothing else of value.
"At least you died a fitting death!"
Xu Yang finally broke into a broad smile.
How could he not smile after gaining seventy-three taels of silver all at once?
He had been somewhat worried that everyone would go sweep the mountains and hunt Exotic Beasts, which might cause trouble during the Martial Exam Dragon Ascent. With this sum of money delivered by Li Sanhe, he no longer had anything to worry about.
