One Piece: Devour Fruit — Main Story, Encircling Jack! The battle continued without end.
In this battle, the side with the numerical advantage and the enemies they faced were simply not on the same level in terms of strength.
Or rather, it was completely one-sided slaughter.
Yet, as severed limbs continued to fall and time passed, Jack seemed to notice something amiss.
The summoning of Demon Soldiers had long since stopped, and Chloe had not summoned any new troops either. There was no doubt about that.
And the ones Jack was killing now were all corpses controlled by Moria. The fact that there was not a single Demon Soldier before him, only zombies, proved it.
But when he had slaughtered the Demon Soldiers before, it had not taken this long.
Even if they could resurrect corpses and reuse their troops, he had changed his strategy as well, directly chopping the zombies into several pieces. By all rights, he should have wiped out the enemy long ago.
Yet now, the enemies before him did not seem to have decreased at all.
And there were simply far too many of them.
Every gap around him was packed with countless enemies. Even with Observation Haki, he still could not avoid every attack—grabs, slashes, chops, bites. If Jack had ever watched a zombie movie, he would surely have related to it deeply.
Because what he was experiencing now was exactly the same. Though he was stronger, and the enemies had no virus, they could not even cause him much trouble.
Though the endlessly swarming enemies could not truly trouble him, their prolonged attacks made Jack increasingly irritable.
These enemies, impossible to fend off and unwilling to disappear, not only drove Jack mad but also allowed him, after deliberately paying attention, to discover something wrong.
