"Excuse me, my name is Mu Yang. I'm a Saiyan." Mu Yang placed a hand over his chest and spoke politely.
"Saiyan..." After hearing Mu Yang introduce himself, Dibike introduced himself as well. "My name is Dibike. It's nice to meet you!"
"As far as I know, this planet should be the homeworld of the Namekians. Why are you the only one here?" Mu Yang studied Dibike in front of him and stated confidently, "You're a Namekian, right?"
"That's right." Dibike nodded.
"Since you're a Namekian, do you know where all the Namekians on this planet went?" Mu Yang asked curiously.
"They're all inside my body." Dibike spoke frankly, telling the truth without reservation.
"I see." Mu Yang frowned. The answer surprised him, though when he thought about it carefully, it wasn't all that surprising.
A Namekian this powerful shouldn't exist under normal circumstances.
The fact that one did could only mean one thing.
This Namekian had become an entire people.
Namekians had a special ability called assimilation.
It allowed two Namekians to merge into one, greatly increasing their power.
Mu Yang looked at Dibike and analyzed the situation in silence.
The Namekian before him must have absorbed and assimilated an entire people.
"Here's what happened..." Dibike seemed to have gone a long time without talking to anyone and was a little long-winded. "Three thousand years ago, a contagious disease swept across Namek. At the time, nine out of every ten Namekians were infected."
"There was no cure, and as time went on, more and more people died." Dibike's eyes dimmed as he clenched his fists in frustration. "Back then, I was the only one lucky enough not to catch it. To ensure our people would survive, the Grand Elder ordered me to absorb all the Namekians."
"With only me left, the disease couldn't spread anymore."
The more Dibike spoke, the lower his voice became. By the end, he was almost inaudible, with a faint quiver of tears in his voice.
Mu Yang fell silent. He hadn't expected such a horrific tragedy to have taken place among the Namekians of Universe 6.
"What was the disease?" Mu Yang asked gravely.
The Namekians were a race blessed with all kinds of extraordinary abilities.
They might not be strong fighters, but their ability to survive was off the charts!
And even if all else failed, they still had the Dragon Balls.
For a people with such an incredible ability to survive to be powerless against a mere contagious disease was simply unbelievable!
"The Grand Elder at the time called the disease divine retribution for abusing the Dragon Balls." As Dibike recalled what had happened, tears welled in his eyes. "The disease was called... Negative Energy Syndrome."
Negative Energy?
Mu Yang frowned, closed his eyes, and carefully sensed every corner of Namek.
He found it: a sinister energy permeated the planet.
Anyone who stayed here too long would be surrounded and possessed by this evil energy.
After finishing his search, Mu Yang opened his eyes.
"What's wrong?" Dibike asked, puzzled.
"Thank you for all you've done." Mu Yang looked at Dibike with mixed feelings.
It couldn't have been easy to live on a planet ravaged by such sinister energy.
One small mistake, and that evil energy could corrupt you.
In short, this planet was no longer fit to live on!
"Huh?" Dibike was even more confused.
"How long have you lived here?" Mu Yang suddenly asked.
"Let's see... I was born about three thousand five hundred years ago, and I've never left." Dibike gazed up at the sky, then lowered his head and sighed, his voice full of emotion.
"Did you never consider leaving Namek?" Mu Yang's brow furrowed. "You should be able to tell that Namek is no longer fit for life."
"So what...? I'm a Namekian, after all." Dibike's gaze was resolute.
Mu Yang and Dibike met each other's eyes.
In an instant, Mu Yang understood what Dibike was thinking.
I see.
Born on Namek, and dying as a ghost of Namek?
But...
"Have you considered what the Grand Elder wanted?" Mu Yang hesitated for a moment, then asked.
"What?" Dibike seemed surprised that Mu Yang would say that.
"The Grand Elder didn't want you to stay here and die alongside them, did he?" Mu Yang sighed, his voice full of emotion. "He wanted you to begin a new life."
Dibike fell silent, unable to answer. Memories of what the Grand Elder had told him three thousand years ago came back to him.
"Child, a better future awaits you."
Then he had passed out. When he woke again, he was the only one left on Namek.
"Maybe that's true..." Dibike murmured.
"Then will you leave Namek?" Mu Yang asked.
"No." Dibike's gaze grew resolute. "Even if I do leave, there's one last thing I have to do first: destroy all the Negative Energy on this planet."
"I see." Mu Yang understood. Dibike probably already knew who was to blame for the Namekians' extinction.
"But I can't do it." Dibike's eyes dimmed again. He looked at Mu Yang with hope. "I know you're powerful. Can you help me? Help me destroy this Negative Energy?"
"Well..." Mu Yang hesitated.
Just then, Vados's voice suddenly sounded in Mu Yang's mind.
"Hehe, little brother Mu Yang, you should agree. I saw something very interesting. Once you've helped him, destroy this planet."
Mu Yang was confused, his brow furrowing.
What exactly did Vados mean?
Destroy Namek?
Mu Yang tried to contact Vados through his mind, but got no response.
"I'll help." With his mind full of questions, Mu Yang still agreed to Dibike's request.
"Thank you!" Dibike was overjoyed. He hurried to his feet, then knelt before Mu Yang. "I can never repay your kindness! If you ever need anything, just come to me!"
Mu Yang smiled and shook his head without saying anything.
"Let's deal with the Negative Energy first."
Mu Yang raised a hand, gathering a radiant purple orb that shimmered like starlight, then launched it into the sky.
"Whoosh!"
The orb shot up at incredible speed. High above, it suddenly burst apart, turning into purple beams like a meteor shower that streaked across the planet.
Beneath those purple beams, all the Negative Energy on Namek was destroyed.
