Background / History

Mu Yang was born a Saiyan but received an unusual name due to an error in the Saiyan naming system: he was meant to be named Shiraka, after a chili pepper, but was instead registered as “Mu Yang.” He keeps the name because it accompanied him throughout his childhood. 41

His parents, Temata and Shier, died saving King Vegeta. In repayment, King Vegeta adopted Mu Yang and raised him with treatment comparable to that of his biological son, Vegeta. 41 Mu Yang later becomes separated from Planet Vegeta after Beerus initially moves to destroy him, then recognizes his talent for Destruction energy and names him a Candidate Destroyer God. 3
