Monday.
The Red Ribbon Army's headquarters had long been fully armed. Soldiers from its various bases stood ready under their officers' command, waiting for the enemy to attack.
They had no idea who the enemy was, how many there were, or where they came from.
"What kind of battle plan is this? It's absurd!" More than one officer had complained, but under the commander's iron-fisted rule, no one dared disobey his orders.
"Have you still found no sign of the enemy's main force?"
Commander Red, the Red Ribbon Army's supreme commander, asked impatiently.
"No sign of them at all, sir!" his subordinate answered nervously.
"Damn it! You useless fools all deserve to be shot!"
The self-assured commander of the Red Ribbon Army refused to believe the claim that only two people were coming to attack their headquarters. In his view, if anyone foolish enough to attack the Red Ribbon Army's headquarters really existed, they would need an army of at least a thousand to have the nerve to make such a claim.
If an army of over a thousand tried to approach Red Ribbon Army headquarters, its massive presence would inevitably attract the army's attention. But so far, not even the radar—let alone their all-seeing satellites—had picked up anything unusual.
Of course, the more likely explanation was that the other side was lying outright or planning a diversion to achieve some strategic objective. The Red Ribbon Army's staff officers unanimously believed this was the enemy's true purpose. But early that morning, the three Dragon Balls shown on the radar had begun moving toward headquarters at incredible speed, thoroughly humiliating the staff.
The Dragon Balls were indeed heading their way, but the enemy army they had expected still hadn't appeared. This left everyone in the Red Ribbon Army utterly bewildered.
"What on earth is going on? Can the enemy turn invisible? Or do they have some other plan?" Just as Commander Red was losing patience, a subordinate suddenly reported, "We've spotted something! The satellite has picked up an unidentified flying object approaching us!"
"Put it on the big screen!" Commander Red ordered.
The image on the screen made everyone present gasp.
"Is that... a human?"
"A human flying through the sky without any equipment?"
"Wait, I know that kid. He's the one who fought against the Red Ribbon Army several times recently." An officer suddenly cried out.
Commander Red also remembered what had happened a while back. While they were collecting the Dragon Balls, a kid had repeatedly opposed the Red Ribbon Army. He had suddenly vanished not long ago, and now he had reappeared.
"Who's the person beside her?"
A short while later, a subordinate reported back: "He's the champion of the World Martial Arts Tournament. His name is Zhang Wutian!"
"The tournament champion? The mysterious martial artist? Good. I've found you!"
A sinister smile spread across Commander Red's face. "Find out everything about his social connections, including his family and friends. I want him to learn what happens when you cross the Red Ribbon Army!"
His subordinate left to carry out the order, and Commander Red sat back down.
"Who would've thought only two people would actually come here? They're just a couple of martial artists with some flying tricks. Do they really think they're invincible supermen? They'll pay for looking down on the Red Ribbon Army!"
Meanwhile, Zhang Wutian and Son Wukong, already caught on satellite, followed the Dragon Radar's directions and flew toward Red Ribbon Army headquarters.
"We used to fight side by side, so go easy on them when the time comes," Zhang Wutian said to Wukong.
"Is the Red Ribbon Army in this place evil?" After getting some firsthand experience, Son Wukong had finally figured out how the two worlds differed.
"How should I put it? The Red Ribbon Army over there isn't exactly good either, but there's a greater enemy looming over them, so they end up on the good guys' side."
"Oh..." Though Zhang Wutian had tried to explain it as simply as possible, Son Wukong still seemed only half to understand.
"Anyway, let's show them what we can do."
"Okay!" That was easy enough to understand, and Son Wukong smiled.
Before long, the two flew into the airspace over Red Ribbon Army headquarters. Faced with the heavily armed fortress, they paused for the moment.
A small, remotely piloted plane flew toward them. A communication device had been installed inside.
Commander Red's wicked face appeared on the device's screen.
"Zhang Wutian, I've been waiting a long time for you."
"Sorry to keep you waiting. This place is a bit far away, so it took us a while to get here."
Zhang Wutian didn't make some lame excuse about sleeping in, getting stuck in traffic, or losing his way in life. He answered honestly.
"Did you bring the Dragon Balls?"
Son Wukong opened the cloth bag tied at her waist, revealing the Dragon Balls inside.
"Excellent." On the screen, Commander Red gave a vicious grin. "Then you can die!"
The next moment, a brilliant light flared from inside the small plane, and an explosion erupted at point-blank range from Zhang Wutian and Son Wukong.
When the smoke cleared, the two stood revealed, their clothes a little blackened with soot.
But that had only been an appetizer. The Red Ribbon Army wasn't stupid. Once they learned their enemies really numbered only two, the staff had concluded that they might possess extraordinary combat power.
After all, the Red Ribbon Army also had officers whose abilities far surpassed the limits of ordinary people.
So they had prepared a grand surprise for the pair.
"You two are nothing! Die!"
Countless missiles trailed long plumes of smoke as they charged toward Zhang Wutian and Son Wukong in a dazzling, Macross-style swarm.
"Are we doing a Super Dimension Fortress Macross routine here? Sorry, but I'm no frail aircraft."
Facing the oncoming barrage, Zhang Wutian clenched both fists. Light began to radiate from them.
"Empty Fist Barrage!"
In the next instant, Zhang Wutian's fists blurred into a single streak. Each punch sent a golden fist-shaped blast flying forward.
Countless fist-shaped blasts collided with countless missiles, and the explosions ran together into one continuous chain.
The sky turned scarlet as countless blasts engulfed the airspace above Red Ribbon Army headquarters.
When it was all over, Zhang Wutian and Son Wukong were completely unharmed. The enormous missile barrage hadn't affected them in the slightest.
"N-no way!"
"What was that? How did they do it?!"
The Red Ribbon Army's superpowered officers were dumbfounded. Even they had no confidence they could have come through an attack like that unscathed.
"Those were just some boring tricks! And you call yourselves the invincible Red Ribbon Army? Attack! I said attack!"
Commander Red shouted in exasperation.
"That was quite a fireworks display. I've seen the Red Ribbon Army's strength for myself. Now it's our turn."
Watching planes, tanks, robots, and even armed infantry pour out of the enemy base, Zhang Wutian—who had been a little afraid of modern weapons not long ago—smiled with easy confidence.
"Using a flashy combo is too much trouble. I'll settle this with one punch."
