Background

Li Lin was an ordinary man from Earth who stayed awake playing Honor of Kings before falling asleep and awakening in a different body on a cliff near Mount Paozu in the Dragon Ball world. His original appearance had been replaced by a remodeled body, and he initially had no explanation for his circumstances. 1

Soon afterward, a text-only Talent System activated and unlocked five first-stage talents. Realizing that his new base power equaled Super Saiyan 2, Li Lin identified the world he had entered. He retains knowledge of Dragon Ball's future events, although some plot details are hazy and he refuses to reveal the source of his foreknowledge. 1 2 9

When questioned about his origin, Li Lin calls himself an Earthling and claims he lived in seclusion in the mountains. Internally, he recognizes that he is not from this world's Earth. 7 10

Though confused after transmigrating, he soon analyzes his system, identifies the Dragon Ball world, and begins planning around the events he remembers.
