"Nice necklace," Charlie said amiably to Dudley, who was eating with his head down. A smile spread across his broad, good-natured face. "Did you buy it yourself?"

"No, a girl gave it to me." Dudley glanced at the big, shiny burn scar on Charlie's arm and said a little thickly, "I thought they said in class that Dittany could heal that?"

"It healed, but that doesn't mean I won't get burned again. I probably fix it once a year... when my mum can't stand looking at it anymore and starts nagging me." Charlie shrugged his dark-brown face. "But if a girl's giving you things, she must like you, right?"
