The frozen atmosphere seemed to thaw. The Death Eaters began to clap, and many of them leaned forward as if eager to learn more, though in truth not one of them actually took a step closer.
"The target wasn't Allen Harris, but someone he loved?! Master, you are so cruel and wise!" Bellatrix happily leaned closer to Voldemort. "Master, though I'm not sure who it was, I'm sure she didn't suffer lightly before she died! That detestable Harris brat must have gone mad by now!"
Voldemort tilted his head slightly toward Bellatrix, unmistakable delight gleaming in his bright red eyes. That simple response sent her almost into raptures, and she let out a shrill, babyish laugh of excitement.
"Bella, make preparations tonight. We'll celebrate this..." Voldemort nodded in satisfaction and smiled, then looked over the faces of his followers before turning his gaze to Rabastan. "Do we still have enough Muggles left?"
"Master, more than enough," Rabastan hurriedly assured him. "Rodolphus provided sufficient water and food. The remaining Muggles are all well." Although some Muggles had died on the day of the incident, and a few lucky ones had even escaped, Rabastan had kept the rest under strict watch and absolutely forbidden any Death Eater from using them for amusement again, lest there be further casualties.
Even with Dolphin, Rabastan had only handed over the few Muggles who had caused him especially great harm back then, allowing him to vent his anger, but he had also specifically instructed Dolphin that he had to ensure those Muggles remained alive until they fulfilled their purpose—so much so that Dolphin did not dare use overly powerful Charms even in revenge.
"Well, Dolphin, will I be able to hear news that Lockhart has been captured?" Voldemort asked Dolphin, who lay on the ground listless
