Remus Lupin was chatting with his mother and father-in-law when he saw Sirius Black notice them. He hurried over to greet them himself, and after embracing the three wizards one by one, he praised them, "Logan, Victor, Kara! You all look in excellent shape today."
"Thank you, and congratulations, Remus. Happy wedding." The slightly taller wizard, his face covered in a full beard, shyly handed the congratulatory gift to Remus Lupin. "I picked a tea set from the gift list. I hope not too many people give you one." (Author's note: I looked up the custom. Apparently, British newlyweds include a gift list with the invitation, listing things they want guests to choose from—more or less meaning, the two of us have just made a new home and don't have much household stuff yet, so why don't all you friends give us some?)
"You even bought new dress robes for this..." Lupin choked up a little and lowered his head, his eyes slightly damp... As a Werewolf, even though Umbrella Corporation now paid them high salaries, the Werewolves, Lupin himself included, had all developed frugal habits after years of hardship. "We've known each other for so many years. You didn't have to..."
"This is your wedding. On a day this memorable, nothing we do to make it formal could be too much, Remus," the tall wizard said with an easy laugh.
"As Werewolves, no one's usually willing to let us take part in this sort of event with them, and we never receive invitations like this either," the sturdy witch said sincerely. "Remus, this isn't just about you anymore. If we want to return to society, we have to pay even more attention to these details than ordinary people do."
There was a stir behind them. From the corner of
