Having said this, Deva Path Pain turned and departed, entering a dark space.

Deep within this place stood a colossal, shadowy figure.

That was the Demonic Statue of the Outer Path.

Deva Path Pain leaped up, landing upon one of the fingers of the Demonic Statue. With one hand forming a seal, he immediately channeled the power of the statue to send a signal to the new members of the Akatsuki.

Before long, two dark silhouettes appeared upon two other fingers of the Demonic Statue.

These were the chakra projections of the other two Akatsuki members.

The moment the two shadows appeared, Deva Path Pain narrowed his eyes slightly and spoke in a calm tone.

"You have arrived, Kisame Hoshigaki, Orochimaru!"

"I truly did not expect to be summoned so soon after joining the Akatsuki. Does appearing here mean... there is a mission?"

Kisame Hoshigaki spoke calmly.

After defecting from the Mist Ninja, he had originally intended to join no organization whatsoever.

Given his own strength, Kisame Hoshigaki did not believe the pursuit of the Mist Ninja posed any threat to him.

However, after hearing the ultimate goal of the Akatsuki, he had been swayed.
