The Harvest

Having finished his train of thought, Kangetsu headed straight toward what was now Kangetsu Town!

Nara Isshin had renamed the town, probably to show his loyalty to Kangetsu!

Now, however, Kangetsu had come straight to the town!

Facing the expectant gazes of the elderly, women, and children of the Four Clans, he said to Inoue beside him, "Tell them we've won the war. Put their minds at ease!"

With that, he slowly walked on ahead, while Inoue spread the news of their victory!

The town erupted in excitement. After all, the weak Four Clans had defeated the powerful Shizang. That alone was thrilling, but even more exciting was the thought that they would be safe from now on!

Yet as Kangetsu took in their smiles, he shook his head and thought, Peace? Safety? Where could you find those in this Warring States Period? Still, I think they're not far off!

At that thought, a faint smile touched his cold lips!

His fingers kept tapping against the tabletop!

The tapping stood out sharply in the quiet meeting room!

Looking at the excited crowd, Kangetsu nodded, then asked with a cold gaze, "Isshin, what did we gain this time?"

At those words, the excited Nara Isshin broke into a broad smile and said, "Lord Kangetsu, in this battle, aside from a few wounded on our side and one who suffered serious injuries in a surprise attack, not a single person died. It's nothing short of a miracle!"

His smile deepened as he finished!

Then he continued, "Lord Kangetsu, as for our gains this time, there are around three hundred women whom you specifically ordered us to spare! Aside from those women, we obtained thirty thousand taels of silver and a huge amount of grain, enough to feed all of us for a year! We also secured a large quantity of military supplies!

"There are a thousand Explosive Tags, tens of thousands of Shuriken and Kunai, and so much iron ore and other supplies that they've filled the entire warehouse! These resources are easily on par with those of some mid-tier clans!"

Hearing this, Kangetsu narrowed his eyes slightly and thought, Mid-tier clans, huh?

During the Warring States Period, the many clans were ranked according to their strength. Apart from the dozen or so superclans, such as the Uchiha, Senju, Uzumaki, Hyuga, and Hagoromo, the rest were divided into upper-tier, mid-tier, and lower-tier clans!

The Nara and the other three clans did not even qualify as lower-tier clans. A clan needed considerable fighting strength and recognition from others to earn a ranking, and the Four Clans' combat abilities were simply too poor for them to be ranked!

But that was also why Kangetsu had been able to bring the Four Clans under his command so easily. After all, for a genius from a superclan, securing the allegiance of four unranked clans was far too simple!
