Background / History
Kangetsu brought White Zetsu out of the Demonic Statue of the Outer Path by using his connection to the God Tree within it. The statue expelled white fluid containing souls, which merged into a white figure. Newly emerged, White Zetsu asked Kangetsu whether he was his master and pledged to serve him alone 248.
Kangetsu then directed White Zetsu’s original body to remain with the Nine-Tails and produce clones, while a clone accompanied him. He ordered those clones to hide beneath Crimson Village and report any signs of rebellion among its clans 249.
Appearance
White Zetsu appears as a pale, white humanoid 248 349.
- Eyes: Dark green when he first emerges 248.
- Clones: Can appear as white humanoid figures; some produced from the statue after Madara added Hashirama’s flesh have unusual forms, including one with a spiral mask 286.
Personality
White Zetsu is obedient to Kangetsu and routinely addresses him as “Lord Kangetsu” 248 249. His loyalty does not prevent him from questioning a plan: he reacts with fear to the human cost of the Infinite Tsukuyomi and asks whether Kangetsu’s treatment of a child could cause the child to collapse 343 344. He can also be sardonic, remarking that Obito has become someone else’s tool again 481.

Cloning and concealment
- Produces numerous clones for surveillance and other assignments. By one point, Kangetsu has 300,000: 100,000 beneath Blood Ninja Village’s walls and the remainder scattered across the continent gathering intelligence 259.
