Chimera Technique

The idea for the Chimera Technique to seize Kekkei Genkai was inspired by Hiruko during the Third Great Ninja War, based on his observation of Kakashi integrating the Sharingan of the Uchiha clan.

He subsequently refined the ninjutsu, ultimately enabling the Chimera Technique to plunder Kekkei Genkai.

"An intriguing concept. Is this ninjutsu called the Chimera Technique?" Uchiha Nara asked expressionlessly, stroking his chin with a faint tone.

"Precisely." Hiruko's fanatical expression remained undimmed as he gazed at Nara with glowing eyes.

"It might be fine if it only devoured animals, but have you ever considered devouring ninjas, or perhaps the Kekkei Genkai of ninjas?"

Uchiha Nara lifted his teacup, blew on it, and spoke calmly.

"Kekkei Genkai?" Hiruko's eyes lit up.

"Brilliant! Simply brilliant! Does Lord Nara harbor similar thoughts as well!?"

Prompted by Nara, Hiruko's mind suddenly cleared, sparking a new train of thought. The fanaticism in his eyes made even Nara feel a slight sense of unease.

These scientific fanatics are truly terrifying. To think that such a wicked deed is being steered by me...

Nara felt a moment of hesitation; for him, this type of matter was truly difficult to reconcile with his conscience.

Nara looked at Hiruko and immediately thought:

A general's success is built upon ten thousand bones; they are the ones choosing to slaughter each other. Without me, he would still do it, and I do indeed require the fruits of his research.

Thinking this, Nara composed his expression, nodded, and said:

"Indeed, I have had similar thoughts, but I lacked an assistant. It was only when I discovered you that I realized why I did not hand you over to the Hokage—because you and I are the same kind of person."

The corners of Hiruko's mouth curled upward. A soulmate is hard to find; he never imagined that this Lord Nara before him was just like himself. It was truly marvelous.

"Lord Nara, I fully endorse your vision and concept! Why don't we conduct an experiment right now?"

"I am a member of the Konoha Military Police Force, and maintaining the stability of Konoha is my duty. Therefore, we cannot continue experiments within Konoha, unless you wish to be hunted down by the Anbu."

"Then, what do you suggest?" Hiruko was somewhat impatient regarding his forbidden experiments.

"Haste makes waste, Hiruko. You need not worry about the experiments; I will build a secret underground base for you. Furthermore, the Konoha prison is full of what you desire. You understand, don't you?"

Upon hearing this, Hiruko revealed a fanatical smile and nodded repeatedly.

"I have seen your previous laboratory; it is far too crude. You need more observation equipment and storage tanks, all of which require funding." Nara said expressionlessly and calmly.

"I have performed many S-rank and A-rank missions for Konoha, and I still have a fair amount of assets left. That was merely a preliminary laboratory, and I was just preparing to expand it!"

Hearing Nara's critique and the mention of the laboratory's inadequacy, Hiruko nodded. He was well aware of the crude state of his facility.

Having just started the experiments, he had not expected the Chimera Technique to make such significant progress after several setbacks, which greatly boosted Hiruko's confidence.

As a Konoha Jonin, Hiruko possessed considerable strength; while not among the very top tier, he was certainly a backbone of the Jonin ranks.

Having completed over a hundred A-rank missions and dozens of S-rank missions—with S-rank missions guaranteeing at least one million ryo—he possessed at least tens of millions in funds.

Adding in the hundreds of A-rank missions, Nara estimated Hiruko had a fortune of over a hundred million ryo.

That was enough to cover nearly a year's budget for the Military Police Force; otherwise, he could not have sustained his long-term experiments.

Nara stroked his chin, lost in thought. According to the Will of Fire, Hiruko's experiments in Konoha continued even after the Third Great Ninja War, and he remained active in the vicinity of the village.

This meant his laboratory base was extremely secure. Had it not been for the elite of the Uchiha clan taking action last time, it would have been difficult to detect his secret base.

"Your secret base is known only to our Military Police Force and no one else. You may continue your experiments there, but do not harm the villagers of Konoha again. As for materials, I will provide them, and as for funding, I will also provide that, but..."

"I also require a copy of the research progress and results. We shall uphold the principle of mutual benefit. Here in Konoha, I will ensure your safety and provide the funds, while you conduct the experiments and refine them. Hiruko-kun, what do you think?"

"I couldn't ask for more!"

Hiruko agreed readily. The ninjutsu had not yet been developed, and whether it would succeed remained unknown.

Having the investment and protection of someone in power would naturally be of immense help to his research.

As for whether he would actually hand over the results once the ninjutsu was developed, that would be for Hiruko to decide.

Trading a blank check for practical assistance—as a seasoned Jonin, Hiruko naturally agreed to this deal.

"Good. Then we shall sign a secret contract, one copy each, to be kept only by me. Remember, my requirement is the research progress, the specific techniques, and the final results. Do you understand?"

"I understand, Lord Nara." Hiruko smiled slightly, looking very agreeable.

Seeing Hiruko's demeanor, Nara guessed that this fellow probably viewed him as a sucker.

Heh, the Chimera Technique was eventually successfully researched; as a transmigrator, I am well aware of that.

Nara sneered inwardly. A bit of investment and negligible protection in exchange for a powerful forbidden technique—as long as he controlled and monitored him well, it was a guaranteed win.

Nara clapped his hands and called out softly, "Riki-kun."

Uchiha Riki, who was standing guard outside, pushed the door open and entered, responding with great respect.

"Trouble yourself to prepare pen and ink, Riki-kun, and arrange for someone to bring Hiruko-kun a cup of tea. We have been chatting quite congenially; it would be rude otherwise."

Uchiha Riki glanced at Hiruko and bowed slightly to Nara: "Hai!"

He then turned and left to arrange the pen, ink, and tea for Nara.

The warden arranged for his subordinates to quickly complete Nara's instructions.

Looking at the paper signed by Hiruko in his hand, Nara revealed a smile.

"Hiruko, you can no longer stay in Konoha. As a Konoha jonin, you have committed such crimes that the Hokage has officially branded you an S-rank missing-nin. I will have my men escort you out through a weak point in the barrier; once you are out, you can focus on your research in peace."

Upon hearing that he had been branded a missing-nin—and at the highest level, no less—even someone as ruthless as Hiruko could not help but sigh for the village he had called home for over twenty years.

Naraku observed his expression and offered comfort:

"Hiruko, your talents are understood only by me at this moment; they are far too great to be confined by a single nation or village. You belong to a much larger world. There is no need to grieve over this. Once you possess greater strength, or perhaps when I eventually become Hokage, you will always be able to return."

Hearing Naraku's reassurance, Hiruko's expression softened. At this stage, the Chimera Technique was still in its infancy, with many aspects left unrefined. Hiruko himself could not be certain of the future, nor was he entirely confident that the underlying logic of the Chimera Technique was truly sound.

Consequently, the Hiruko of this time did not yet possess the arrogance he would later display once the Chimera Technique reached its zenith.
