Orochimaru didn't really believe what Naraku had said about the Sharingan and its abilities. He had never heard of the Sharingan having such powers; it was simply too unbelievable.

Orochimaru thought Uchiha Nara must have had some unknown spies or intelligence network that had infiltrated Root. That seemed much more likely.

First Hokage Cells were contraband, but Orochimaru had plenty of them. He wanted to see what Nara was up to.

Orochimaru didn't hesitate any longer. He unrolled the scroll and pressed his hand against it, summoning two long, slender glass tubes, each about thirty centimeters long.

The tubes were filled with green liquid that seemed to teem with life. Suspended in the liquid were pieces of flesh about the size of a fingernail.

The First Hokage had really been dissected by the people of Konoha!

Hashirama Senju's body had been so powerful and unbelievable that even though the First Hokage had been dead for more than thirty years, his flesh hadn't rotted. It still radiated a strange vitality.

Two snakes slithered out of Orochimaru's sleeve. Holding a glass tube apiece, they stretched toward Naraku's desk.

He had no idea how long the snakes were. The distance between the guest and host seats was about five meters, yet they stretched all the way over, set down the two glass tubes containing the First Hokage Cells, then retreated.
