Background and History
At ten, Inabi defeats a Sunagakure genin in the Chūnin Exams, though an unexpected counterattack nearly costs him the match. Naraku subsequently keeps him close as a guard and mentors him while he studies ninjutsu 75 80.
During the Battle of Kikyō Mountain, Naraku collapses as his eyes evolve. Inabi catches him and moves to defend him from a black-and-white assassin. In the ensuing fight, Inabi awakens his Mangekyō Sharingan and burns the attacker's Wood Clone with Amaterasu 148 149.
Naraku later sends Inabi to Yuho City to gain leadership experience. Inabi heads the city's Anbu for a time, but becomes absorbed in the Ninja Tool Workshop and develops considerable forging skill under the artisan Baogui 247. His interest leads him to support the resurrection of Seimei, founder of the Artisan Ninjas. When Seimei threatens Inabi and his companions, Inabi captures him with genjutsu and sealing techniques and brings him back to Yuho City 248 257.
Inabi continues working with Seimei rather than accepting his ambition to conquer the shinobi world. They collaborate on seven distinctive weapons for Naraku, with Uchiha Yuya contributing medical expertise to the poison-extracting kusarigama 261 292 337. After Naraku becomes Daimyō, Inabi volunteers for his proposed Twelve Golden Guardian Shinobi and offers to help forge their Chakra Armor 451.
