Resurrection

Itachi Uchiha didn't argue, because in his heart, the village came before the clan.

"All right, let's leave it at that. Do you have any of Shisui's remains?"

Itachi was taken aback, but quickly took out one of the Sharingan Shisui had left behind: a Mangekyō Sharingan said to possess the strongest genjutsu, Kotoamatsukami.

Fei Shi took a drop of blood from the eyeball, then gestured for Itachi to put it away.

Fei Shi looked at the ground, as though there were something beneath it.

Boom!

He punched the ground. A white humanoid creature was blasted out, and Fei Shi seized it.

It was a creature known as White Zetsu.

"Damn it! Let me go!"

"Heh. Be a good sacrifice."

After making the necessary preparations,

"Ninja Art: Impure World Reincarnation Jutsu!"

"Ah!"

As White Zetsu howled, its appearance changed to resemble Shisui.

"What's going on? Wasn't I dead?"

Fei Shi said irritably,

"Be quiet for now."

Then he took out two coffins. Inside were the Fourth Hokage, Minato Namikaze, and Kushina Uzumaki.

"The Fourth Hokage and Lady Kushina Uzumaki!"

"Weren't they—weren't they already buried?!"

Itachi and Shisui were stunned.

"There's plenty you don't know."

Then he took some fruit from the Tree of Life.

The fruit could heal their injuries and replenish their life force. It was exactly what they needed.

Kushina Uzumaki was currently on the brink of death. With enough life force, she could escape death.

As for Minato Namikaze, the Root ninja who had followed Itachi to keep an eye on him would do just fine.

He walked outside and reached toward the spot where the Root ninja was hiding.

"Tenseigan: Attraction."

The Root ninja was utterly bewildered as Fei Shi pulled him in and seized him. Of course, the man wore a mask, so Fei Shi couldn't see his expression.

After using genjutsu to control the Root ninja, he formed the hand signs to undo the Dead Demon Consuming Seal.

He'd read about it in the Scroll of Seals but hadn't learned it; he'd only memorized the hand signs.

"Ha! Hah! Ha! Heh! Dead Demon Consuming Seal: Release!"

A grim reaper passed down through the Uzumaki Clan appeared before the Root ninja, wearing a mask with a demon face. At its gesture, it slit open its belly, and a soul drifted out.

Fei Shi took out some Water of Life that had flowed from the Tree of Life and poured it over Minato Namikaze's wound.

The hole in his chest slowly healed, and Fei Shi guided Minato Namikaze's soul back into his body.

He carefully crushed the Fruit of Life and placed it in the mouths of the couple.

Then he began to wait.

Naruto wasn't there at the time. He'd been sent to the Hyuga household to train in Taijutsu and combat skills.

Hyuga Hiashi had agreed as a favor to Fei Shi. Since Naruto wasn't learning the Hyuga Clan's Gentle Fist, Hiashi could also use the chance to see how his daughter's training was going.

Back to the matter at hand.

An hour later, Kushina Uzumaki slowly opened her eyes.

"Where am I? Huh, you're... Right! Fei Shi! You're from the Uzumaki Clan, just like me."

"Wait... Right! Naruto! Where's Naruto? Naruto? Fei Shi, where did Naruto go?"

She really was his mother.

"Hahahaha, Minato! We're all right! We're all right! Sob, we can be with Naruto again, sob!"

Kushina wept with joy.

Of course she did. She'd thought she was going to die, and that she'd never be able to be there for Naruto again.

But then a benefactor had helped them, and they'd come back to life. Now she could be there for her child. What parent wouldn't be happy?

"Cough, cough. Naruto went to the Hyuga household. He's gotten along very well with the Hyuga princess. I was thinking..."

Fei Shi pressed his two index fingers together.

Kushina Uzumaki asked, "How old is he now? Judging by your age, about four?"

"Yeah. I'm related to the Hyuga clan head. His daughter's my niece, and Naruto's a great kid."

"Fine by me. The Hyuga princess, your niece? Perfect! I've made up my mind!"

Itachi Uchiha and Shisui felt awkward. They wanted to say something but didn't know how to begin.

"Who are you two?"

Noticing their awkwardness, Minato Namikaze asked.

"Hello, Lord Hokage. Hello, Aunt Kushina."

"Huh? You're... Mikoto's son, Itachi Uchiha, right?"

"Yes. This is my close friend, Shisui."

Minato Namikaze finally asked the question he'd been wanting to ask. As Hokage, how could he not know about the Impure World Reincarnation? It was a forbidden jutsu, but he knew its characteristics.

"Shisui Uchiha, I know who you are. How did you end up in an Impure World Reincarnation body? The Uchiha Clan wouldn't let a genius like you sacrifice himself, would they?"

"It was Danzo. Shisui awakened the Mangekyō Sharingan, and his ocular jutsu was Kotoamatsukami, said to be the strongest genjutsu. He wanted to use it to control Fugaku and resolve the conflict between the village and the Uchiha Clan. But he foolishly told the higher-ups his plan, and they all agreed. Danzo wanted to take his eyes. And then... this happened, and... well, now he's in this sorry state."

Fei Shi said it all without holding back.

He trusted the sunny Minato.

Shisui was so embarrassed he could have dug himself a three-bedroom apartment.

Fei Shi thought, Good. The more rooms, the better.

Everyone had warned him, and he'd still walked straight into the trap like a fool.

"Let's discuss this another time. Though Fei Shi's plan was bloody, it's also a way for the Uchiha to be reborn. The rest of the clan can learn from it, too, and change their temperament."

Seeing the impatience on Kushina Uzumaki's face, Minato Namikaze brought the discussion to a halt.

"Naruto! Naruto! Hurry and bring him here! Fei Shi, quick, quick!"

Kushina couldn't wait to see Naruto and urged Fei Shi on. They were dead, after all, and couldn't show themselves in public. It would be too shocking.

Fei Shi didn't want them to appear in public just yet, either. He wanted Minato Namikaze to join the revolution.

"All right, big nephew. Before I came, I took a look at this."

Fei Shi joked with Minato. Minato Namikaze was speechless.

Damn family hierarchy.

Itachi Uchiha left, while Shisui stayed behind and went to a room to reflect.

"The Red Ideology? What a truly great idea. I was shortsighted before."

"Na-ru-to! You little rascal! What are you doing? Get over here!"

As soon as Fei Shi entered the Hyuga household, he started shouting for Naruto.

He strode toward the Hyuga Clan's training grounds with a swagger that said he didn't care who he offended.

The Hyuga Clan members saw his brazen attitude and felt conflicted. They resented that he'd witnessed their new skills, but they couldn't help liking him. Still, he was so arrogant they wanted to slap him in the face.

"You little brat, you finally showed up. Take this kid and get out! Hinata isn't going, either! If you come to my house again, my daughter will be spirited away!"
