Inside Amphoreus.
Yan Huan returned to Okhema's plaza with a backpack slung over his shoulders.
All his gear was with Dan Heng, who was still on his way back to the train. Without a storage item, Yan Huan had simply brought a backpack.
"Ugh. I hate carrying stuff."
Yan Huan looked across the empty plaza, puzzled.
"Huh? Where did everyone go?"
"And why are the lights off at this hour..."
Okhema's plaza lay in darkness. The sky glowed a deep red, as though the gods were meeting their end.
"..."
Yan Huan fell silent for a few seconds. Then something occurred to him.
He turned.
Far beyond the clouds stood Kephale's divine body. The Dawn Machine on its back had lost its glow and was spewing black matter.
"Why the fuck did the Dawn Machine go out?!"
"Fuck..."
Eyes wide, Yan Huan tried to message Phainon and the others while racing toward the Enlightenment Throne.
At the top of the Grove of Epiphany, the Enlightenment Throne was deathly quiet.
By the time Yan Huan arrived, the black-robed swordsman was gone.
Only a golden cube lay on the ground.
Yan Huan picked it up and carefully surveyed the area.
There were no signs of a fight...
Did the black-robed swordsman have an accomplice?
"Was I in Penacony for too long?"
Yan Huan scratched his head. As he considered what to do next, his phone suddenly rang.
He checked it. Phainon had sent him a message.
"Wait for you at the Genesis Vortex Heart? Are you about to begin Re-Creation...?"
Yan Huan stared at Phainon's message, then hurried to the Genesis Vortex Heart.
At the Genesis Vortex Heart, fallen stone pillars flickered in and out of sight like digital projections...
Yan Huan approached slowly, unable to make sense of it.
