Background / History

Dan Heng was born through the forced Scale Shedding Technique after Dan Feng altered the Dragon Venerable succession process. Though Vidyadhara reincarnation should have made him a new individual whose past-life crimes were legally erased, he was imprisoned from birth and later exiled from the Xianzhou Luofu because of Dan Feng's legacy. 305 333

He rejects being treated as Dan Feng, repeatedly insisting that he is Dan Heng and has no connection to Blade's past grievances. Nevertheless, he retains Dan Feng's combat techniques, dragon form, and inherited Dragon Venerable power. 303 304 354 359

After returning to the Luofu, he agrees to aid Jing Yuan's campaign against Huanlong—not as a Nameless compelled into the conflict, but as a descendant of the Imbibitor fulfilling a responsibility to the Luofu. 308 He later decides that he can accept responsibility for Dan Feng's actions while continuing his own journey aboard the Express. 361

Return to the Xianzhou Luofu

After meeting Sushang and Luocha amid Mara-struck soldiers, Dan Heng seeks the most dangerous area rather than safety. 229 Blade exposes him as Imbibitor Lunae, forcing Dan Heng to awaken his dragon form during a confrontation with Blade and Yan Qing. 304

Jing Yuan asks him to act as Dan Feng for one final favor, promising to revoke his exile afterward. Dan Heng accepts aid against Huanlong as a Luofu descendant, then uses his power to open the path toward Jianmu. 305 308 309

Jianmu Crisis

Dan Heng unseals locations around Jianmu, grows suspicious that Jing Yuan may be another enemy, and fights to protect the Express crew. 311 312 During the later conflict, he is restrained by the Masked Man because his cooperation is necessary for the Dragon Transformation secret art. 326 327

He eventually becomes fully Mara-struck, holding onto his final fragment of sanity long enough to break free and attack Huanlong. 322

Dragon Venerable Succession Conflict

Following the crisis, Dan Heng learns that the Imbibitor Elders want him to replace Bailu as Dragon Venerable. He refuses the position, defeats Vidyadhara opponents attempting to bar his entry to Scalegorge Waterscape, and investigates the consequences of Dan Feng's failed ritual. 333 335 337

He concludes that the Dragon Transformation Secret Art may contain a means for the Vidyadhara to reproduce outside their reincarnation cycle, though its full mechanism remains unclear. 339

Onfaros

Dan Heng arrives on Onfaros with Yan Huan after their train car is attacked and destroyed. He helps defend the group from statue-like monsters and later investigates the Black Tide, the Tree Court, and Onfaros's extraterrestrial origins. 1165 1289 1424
