Vegeta came to Earth to gather the Dragon Balls and prepare for Frieza’s threat, growing stronger as he fought enemies and made Capsule Corporation his home. With the Ginyu Force threatening Earth, Vegeta tried to buy time for the Guardian and Demon King Piccolo to fuse and began planning around the full moon.

• Vegeta left Planet Vegeta for Earth, defeated Cui, and survived the Ultra Divine Water after Karin led him to it.
• Vegeta reached Capsule Corporation, protected Bulma and Dr. Brief from the Red Ribbon Army, and asked Dr. Brief to help build a Dragon Radar and gravity chamber.
• Dodoria revealed Frieza’s plan to destroy the Saiyans, but Vegeta killed him after surviving his powerful attack.
• After recovering at Capsule Corporation, Vegeta killed Mercenary Tao, gathered Dragon Balls from the Red Ribbon Army, and ordered Nappa and Raditz to protect the household.
• Vegeta defeated Zarbon after forcing him to transform, then questioned Raditz for leaving Bulma and the others behind.
• Vegeta evaded the Ginyu Force, killed Burter, and hurried to collect the last Dragon Ball while Ginyu threatened to destroy Earth.
• The Guardian agreed to fuse with Demon King Piccolo, and Vegeta told the Guardian to have Piccolo delay Ginyu while he went for the final Dragon Ball.
• Vegeta warned Piccolo to stay hidden, created a false moon that the Ginyu Force destroyed, and asked the Guardian whether he could make the full moon arrive early.

Vegeta escaped Ginyu’s forces and returned to Planet Vegeta, where he defeated Ginyu and challenged Galdo. After Frieza intervened and Vegeta was injured, Frieza changed course toward Namek in pursuit of the Dragon Balls, leaving the Saiyans preparing for what might come next.

• Vegeta summoned Shenron but could not become a Super Saiyan, then pretended to be defeated by Ginyu to protect Earth and avoid confronting Frieza before he was ready.
• Vegeta escaped into space, threw Recoome out of the ship, and reached Planet Vegeta after making Ginyu and Jeice go hungry for a month.
• Vegeta trained at up to one hundred times gravity, then confronted Zaron and helped King Vegeta fight him.
• Vegeta captured Ginyu in the statue of King Vegeta, killed Jeice, and fought Galdo, whose power rose to at least six hundred thousand.
• Vegeta matched Galdo’s displayed power, then took Galdo’s blast while protecting King Vegeta, and Galdo promised to return in ten days.
• Vegeta healed after one day, met Nappa and Raditz, and considered how to protect Planet Vegeta from Frieza.
• Bardock warned Vegeta that Frieza might discover his plan and destroy Planet Vegeta, but Vegeta dismissed the warning.
• Frieza redirected his forces toward Namek after hearing about the Dragon Balls, while King Vegeta ordered an investigation into the planet’s location.
