Appearance
Planet Vegeta is a Saiyan-inhabited world centered on the Saiyan Royal Capital and its royal palace. After the Tree of Might drained its life force, its sky darkened, soil dried out, vegetation withered, and animal bones covered the ground; its vitality returned once the tree was destroyed 11 16.
- Saiyan Royal Capital — political center and location of the royal palace; later rebuilt following Turles's invasion 1 13 17.
- Saiyan Nursery — centralized facility where newborn Saiyans were traditionally raised before being assigned planetary missions 6.
- Artificial moons — created above the planet during the rebellion against Frieza to provide Blutz Waves for the Saiyans' Great Ape transformations 3 4.
- Tree of Might site — Turles planted the tree in the Royal Capital, where its trunk destroyed the city and its branches spread across most of the planet 12 13 16.
- Training facilities — later equipped with Capsule Corporation Gravity Rooms, Healing Tanks, and a Hyperbolic Time Chamber for Saiyan development 25 46.
History
Frieza's impending destruction
Four years before the planned destruction of Planet Vegeta, Lynx returned to the royal palace and warned that Frieza would annihilate the Saiyans. The warning was initially dismissed by King Vegeta and the mid-level warriors, who viewed the Saiyans as Frieza's trusted subordinates 1.
After Lynx defeated King Vegeta and became the Saiyans' new king, he revealed that Beerus had ordered the planet's destruction. King Vegeta accepted the threat as genuine and joined Lynx and Bardock in preparing a rebellion 1 3.
The Saiyans suppressed Frieza Force liaison offices and monitoring personnel on the planet, transmitting false reports to conceal their revolt. They then assembled in the capital, where King Vegeta and Paragus's squads created artificial moons so the Saiyans could transform into Great Apes and attack Frieza's arriving forces 3 4.
Relocation and dormancy
Following the battle with Frieza, Lynx chose to protect Planet Vegeta and establish a Saiyan Empire. Concerned that Frieza, King Cold, Cooler, or Beerus could still threaten the planet, he arranged for its survival during his five-year fusion with the Legendary Super Saiyan bloodline 5 6.
Using Shenron's power, Lynx relocated Planet Vegeta to the edge of the universe. The Saiyans were forbidden from leaving so that its new location would remain secret, and the population spent the following five years recuperating and training under King Vegeta's administration 6 11.
Turles's occupation
Near the end of Lynx's absence, Turles accidentally discovered the relocated planet while searching for a suitable site to grow a Tree of Might. After defeating King Vegeta and Bardock, he proclaimed himself King of the Saiyans and planted the tree in the Royal Capital 12 14.
The Tree of Might consumed Planet Vegeta's life force to produce its fruit. The capital was destroyed by the growing trunk, while the wider planet became barren: clouds darkened the sky, the land dried up, vegetation died, and surviving Saiyans hid underground in the mountains 11 12 13.
Resurrection and reconstruction
Lynx returned with Broly, defeated Turles, and destroyed the Tree of Might. The energy absorbed by the tree dispersed across the world and returned to the soil, reviving Planet Vegeta and ending its ecological collapse 16.
Three days later, the Saiyans began rebuilding the Royal Capital, starting with the damaged royal palace. Lynx lifted the ban on space travel and ordered Paragus to establish laws for a society that had previously operated primarily by strength 17.
Society and development
- End of infant deployment — Lynx abolished the practice of sending newborn Saiyans to other planets for missions, instead keeping them on Planet Vegeta to consolidate the race's limited strength 6.
- Structured training — Lynx introduced a planet-wide training regimen for Saiyans of every age and gender after determining that their earlier progress had been slow and unstructured 18.
- Earth technology exchange — Capsule Corporation supplied Gravity Rooms and Healing Tanks after Planet Vegeta's three existing medical machines proved insufficient for the thousands of Saiyans training there 19 25.
- Hyperbolic Time Chamber — a chamber obtained by Lynx was installed on Planet Vegeta to develop the willpower of promising young Saiyans 46.
- Saiyan Peacekeeping Force — the Saiyans became a special armed force working with the Galactic Patrol. Bardock led deployments against violent threats, including Frieza Force operations and invasions of colonized worlds 25 26 32 39.
- Super Saiyan awakening — Hanasia's transformation into a Super Saiyan caused active scouters across the planet to explode and alerted the entire population to the return of this legendary power 28 29.
