Arrival, Mission

A month later, in the middle of a vast ocean stood a small, charming island. Inside the house, the people of Earth had gathered. Anyone familiar with the original story would recognize those seated around the small table: Krillin, Tien Shinhan, Yamcha, Master Roshi, Bulma, Chi-Chi, and Ox-King!

"The time is almost here. Let's hurry and summon Shenron to bring Goku back to life!" Bulma said excitedly. She had spent the past year searching tirelessly for the Dragon Balls so she could revive Goku. Meanwhile, the people of Earth had been training hard for the coming battle!

King Kai's Planet

"Goku, we're in trouble. I was so focused on your training that I forgot it would take time for you to return from Snake Way to King Yemma's place. Those two Saiyans are about to land!" King Kai said anxiously, looking at his well-built student.

A faint light flashed in Goku's hand. He raised it and hurled it with all his might at the scattered stone pillars, smashing them to pieces. It was North Kai's second ultimate technique: the Spirit Bomb! The powerful yet righteous Ki Blast filled everyone with both excitement and fear!

"King Kai, what should I do? Even though I've gotten a lot stronger, it'll probably still take me three hours to get from Snake Way to King Yemma's place..." Goku asked urgently.

"There's nothing we can do. We can only hope your friends on Earth can hold out until you get back," King Kai said.

"Set off right now. I just heard Bulma say she's going to summon Shenron to bring you back to life," King Kai said anxiously.

"Okay, I'm leaving now. Chi-Chi, Gohan, everyone, hang in there until I get back!" Goku said.

Goku planted his feet firmly and bent his legs slightly before leaping into the air. The next moment, he was already bounding along Snake Way.

"Woohoo! I feel so light! My body's like a feather," Goku said excitedly to himself. He leaped more than ten meters into the air along Snake Way, then surged forward in an arc like an angry bird.

"Now's no time to celebrate. I have to get back as fast as I can. The Saiyans will be here soon," Goku said. Blue light surrounded his whole body as he shot forward like a rocket!

Saiyans were a warrior race. In Goku's mind, it wasn't just about protecting Earth. He also wanted to fight powerful opponents. Ever since he learned that the Saiyans were coming to Earth, his body had been trembling uncontrollably—not from fear, but from a yearning for battle.

Inside the spaceship

"Ding. The system detects that the host is about to arrive on Earth. A new mission is being issued," the cold, mechanical voice said slowly.

Vegeta opened his eyes. "Are we almost there? I slept for another month. My body really doesn't feel great. After this battle, I'll have Bulma give my spaceship a thorough upgrade. A Gravity Chamber, a shower area... She'll be my wife someday, so those requests aren't unreasonable, right?" Vegeta gave a cold, sinister grin, the corners of his mouth nearly reaching his ears. Besides upgrading the ship, he was probably hoping to take Bulma for himself this time, too!

"As the Strongest Choice System, I am issuing the host three missions to choose from. Each choice offers a different reward," the system said.

"Choice one: Kill everyone on Earth. Reward: 50,000 battle power."

"Choice two: Defeat Sun Wukong. Reward: a skill better than Kaio-ken." (The host will learn what the skill is after choosing.)

"Choice three: Destroy Earth outright. Reward: the title 'Heartless Killer.' Attribute: Anyone who sees you will want to stay far away."

"Since the host's current power completely surpasses Sun Wukong's, the reward will be issued after the mission is completed!"

Damn system.

Don't you know Sun Wukong has that overpowered technique, Kaio-ken?

Vegeta looked at the three missions displayed by the system and thought to himself, Battle power is easy enough to raise, but a skill better than Kaio-ken could decide whether I finally lose the title of perennial runner-up. As for the third mission, this damn system clearly just threw it in to make up the numbers.

"System, I choose the second option: defeat Sun Wukong," Vegeta said.

In the original story, Goku's battle power had already reached 8,000, and the boost from Kaio-ken had given Vegeta a miserable time. But this Vegeta wasn't limited to a battle power of just 12,000 anymore. With the 10,000 battle power he'd gotten from the beginner's gift pack, beating Sun Wukong should be no problem.

A deafening boom rang out above Earth as two spaceships hurtled toward the ground at nearly the speed of light. In the city, two enormous craters had formed, and the round spaceships slowly opened their hatches!...
