The Mysterious Man

"Right in hell! Die, brat!"

The humanoid monster sneered and beat the wings on his back, swooping down from the sky at terrifying speed and charging straight at Goku!

Bam!

Goku chuckled, then stamped a foot down. The power inside him erupted in an instant, and he suddenly punched the humanoid monster in the stomach, sending him flying.

"S-so fast!"

Krillin stared at Goku in amazement and spoke.

"Damn it, how is this brat so strong too?" Fortuneteller Baba said angrily, furrowing her brows.

"You don't look very strong."

Goku turned his head away and said disdainfully.

"Damn brat, how dare you speak to the great Devilman like that? Unforgivable!"

"Now I'll show you my true power!"

With that, Devilman suddenly spread the wings on his back, releasing a white, starry glow. Then he joined his hands, aimed them at Goku, and said coldly, "No matter how kind someone is, they'll always harbor evil thoughts. I'll slowly magnify the evil in your heart until it finally explodes inside your body!"

"Devil Beam!"

As he spoke, Devilman pointed both hands forward. A purple ray shot out in an instant and wrapped around Goku, then burst into dazzling light!

"Explode!"

Devilman roared.

"What's that ray supposed to do?"

"Nothing's happening."

As the light gradually faded, Goku stood unharmed where he was, wrapped in the ray. He scratched his head and asked in confusion.

"What? Th-this can't be!"

Devilman stared at the scene in horror, so shocked he couldn't even close his mouth!

"I refuse to believe anyone can be without evil thoughts! Take this! Devil Ray!"

Devilman shook his head frantically, then fired the ray at Goku again. But nothing changed. Goku was still standing there without a scratch!

"Y-you... you don't have... an evil heart!" Devilman said, his face pale as he pointed at Goku with a trembling finger.

"Are you done with your tricks? It's my turn now!" Goku said impatiently.

Without hesitation, Goku leaped forward and charged at him. But the other man suddenly produced a trident and thrust it viciously at Goku.

Whoosh!

Goku flashed aside, quickly dodging the sharp blade. Then he retreated several steps and steadied himself!

"Coward! Using a weapon, are you? Fine, then I won't hold back!"

Goku's gaze sharpened. He leaped high into the air, somersaulted a few times, then clenched his fist and dived toward the ground!

"Stupid brat. You're making a perfect target!"

Devilman laughed loudly, then gripped his trident and thrust it viciously at the descending Goku.

"Ha!"

At that moment, Goku let out a shout and stopped in midair. Devilman's trident struck nothing, and his expression suddenly changed! Then Goku kicked him in the face. After landing, Goku used the force from his legs to kick him again!

Bam!

Devilman went flying and crashed into the stone statue of a demon, embedded in it and knocked unconscious.

"Huh?"

"I think I hit him too hard!"

Goku rubbed his nose and said awkwardly.

"You've done well to defeat my four warriors! But my fifth fighter is an exceptionally skilled martial artist."

As Fortuneteller Baba spoke, a mysterious figure emerged from the darkness. He held his hands behind his back and wore an ochre padded jacket. Stranger still, he wore a peculiar mask, as if he didn't want anyone to know who he was.

"Baba, I have a small request. It's too cramped in here. I'd like to fight this little fellow somewhere more open," the Mysterious Man said to Fortuneteller Baba.

"Of course!"

Then, led by Fortuneteller Baba, they left the gloomy, terrifying room and went to the grounds outside the palace!

"Come on! I'm going to beat you!" Goku said, taking a fighting stance.

"Haha, I'm looking forward to it."

Whoosh!

With that, the Mysterious Man moved swiftly. In the blink of an eye, he was beside Goku, striking at him with a flurry of punches and palm strikes!

Goku remained composed and quickly raised his guard, blocking the attacks. The two then launched into a fierce battle!

The Mysterious Man's expression tightened. Seeing that he couldn't gain an advantage, he quickly put some distance between himself and Goku. Then he leaped into the air and used the force of his descent to kick hard at Goku.

"Goku, what are you doing? Dodge!" Krillin shouted anxiously.

Goku stood motionless, staring blankly. Facing the Mysterious Man's attack, he actually thrust out his chest and let the kick land.

Bam!

The Mysterious Man's blow struck home, and he landed steadily on the ground.

"What?"

The Mysterious Man's face changed beneath his mask. He murmured in disbelief, "How has this little fellow trained? He took my full-force attack without a scratch?"

"Hehe, you're really strong! Now I'm going to get serious!" Goku chuckled and said calmly.

"Then try this!"

With that, the Mysterious Man bent his knees slightly and cupped his hands together at his waist, forming a flower shape!

"N-no way!"

Goku's face changed, and he said in astonishment.

"Kame... hame... ha!"

"Ha!"

As the Mysterious Man's voice rang out, a white beam of energy blazed toward Goku, accompanied by a dazzling flash!

"Where'd he go?"

When the light faded, Goku had vanished from where he'd been standing!

"I'm up here!"

Suddenly, Goku's voice rang out. Everyone looked up and saw him high in the sky, dozens of meters above them.

"Th-this... When did he...? I didn't even see him move!"

The Mysterious Man exclaimed in amazement.

"Now, take this!"

"Kame... hame... ha!"

Goku chuckled, then unleashed a Kamehameha in midair. The powerful blast crashed down. The Mysterious Man tried to flee, but Goku's attack still caught him in the blast, sending him tumbling several times before he fell to the ground.

Then Goku descended from the sky and kicked the Mysterious Man hard in the chest before landing on the ground again.

"Sorry, I hit you a little too hard!"

"But I have no choice. I have to win!"

Goku looked apologetically at the Mysterious Man lying on the ground.

"If you still don't give up, I won't go easy on—"

Smack!

Before Goku could finish, the Mysterious Man suddenly grabbed his tail in a sneak attack!

"Oh no!"
