I thought about many things that night.
Before I knew it, I slept until early the next morning.
Master and Mao Jing both came over.
Master had rested for a day, and his spirits had improved greatly.
Mao Jing had gotten himself a cane. Aside from limping when he walked, he was largely fine.
Pan Ling and I had kept watch all night, so we switched shifts and headed back as well.
But as we left the inpatient building and walked toward the main gate, we ran into Li Xiaomin, who was coming in for work.
Li Xiaomin had driven over. She was still fairly low-key, only driving a Panamera worth a little over a million.
She had just parked in a space outside the hospital when she saw Pan Ling and me coming out.

Seeing that it was Li Xiaomin, I waved back.

Pan Ling and Mao Jing had come to visit me during my previous hospitalization, so perhaps they had met before.

"This is my college classmate, Li Xiaomin. A rising star in surgery who was made permanent ahead of schedule."
I introduced them with a smile.
Pan Ling and Li Xiaomin sized each other up, then exchanged rather fake professional smiles as a greeting.
She had to work, and we needed to go back and sleep.
