The traces left by the battle resembled grotesque paintings, carved haphazardly across every inch of land.

Enormous cracks spread out like a spider web, while bottomless ravines resembled tentacles of the abyss, trying to drag everything nearby into endless darkness.

Huge rocks had been shattered by overwhelming force and scattered everywhere, like toys casually discarded by giants.

In some places, the soil had been scorched black by intense heat, giving off a pungent smell, as if the fires of hell had raged here.

At the center of that bottomless crater, two figures stood out in particular.

They were Borcan and Murphy.

Yet neither retained any of their former majesty. They looked as miserable as two birds ravaged by a storm.

Borcan's hair was disheveled, his face caked with blood and dust, and his eyes revealed exhaustion and unwillingness.

His robe had long since been torn to shreds, exposing his scar-covered body. Wounds deep enough to reveal bone looked especially horrifying in the darkness.

His hands hung limply at his sides, his fingers trembling slightly from overusing magic, with blood filling the gaps beneath his nails.

The Legendary Staff that had once shone like the blazing sun had also snapped into two pieces. It lay silently at his feet,
