Give it a read?
Normally, a going-premium post is a great opportunity to play the pity card, but I tried that with my last book, and the experience wasn't great. My last book went premium with 8,700 bookmarks and got 221 first-day subscriptions. I have to say, I'll remember that number forever.
Why?
Because if my first book's results hadn't been so awful, I wouldn't have let myself go and written Warhammer.
And if I hadn't let myself go and written Warhammer, I wouldn't have decided to start a Warhammer novel for my second book.
And if I hadn't started a Warhammer novel, then naturally I wouldn't have met all of you, both new and old readers.

I have a bit of obsessive-compulsive disorder—actually, pretty severe OCD. If I wasn't satisfied with a chapter after writing it, I would rewrite it over and over until I was.
Therefore, I wasn't quite sure whether I could finish all six major chapters—thirty chapters' worth of updates—before midnight.
But I'd do my best. And if I fell short on the word count, I'd make it all up within the next two or three days. If you have no idea how fast I write, all I can say is that I once wrote thirty-six thousand words
