Chapters 101–127 Vol. 2 Read

Ch. 101How Are You Supposed to Be a Villain Like That?

Fang Cheng interrupted Edo Reina as she attacked Sato Hayato, but she bound him and healed herself with the Black Bible. After she admitted that she had killed Sato Hayato’s family to prevent future trouble, Fang Cheng transformed and filled the room with a chilling presence.

  • Edo Reina dodged Fang Cheng’s javelins and fought him inside Sato Hayato’s home, but used the Black Bible to bind him with black cords.
  • Edo Reina healed her injuries with a prayer while Fang Cheng struggled to break free.
  • Fang Cheng asked Edo Reina where the Day of Divine Descent ritual would take place, but she refused to reveal the location.
  • Edo Reina told Fang Cheng that she had killed Sato Hayato’s family to prevent them from causing trouble later.
  • Fang Cheng’s hair turned white, his eyes changed, and Edo Reina sensed an overwhelming danger from him.

Ch. 102Come Here and Let Me Take a Look

Fang Cheng fought Edo Reina after she threatened the Sato family, but she trapped him in an illusion with her lifespan-draining technique. He rejected the illusion’s tempting fantasy by beating Edo Reina within it, and the illusion shattered.

  • Fang Cheng entered Blood of Madness and attacked Edo Reina, overcoming her spells and surviving a collapsing floor and ceiling.
  • Edo Reina used Imbalance to stagger Fang Cheng, then activated Ultimate Bliss Heaven at the cost of much of her lifespan.
  • Edo Reina approached the motionless Fang Cheng to kill him while he was trapped in the illusion.
  • Fang Cheng realized he wanted to kill Edo Reina and beat her until she vanished from the illusion.
  • Fang Cheng’s dissatisfaction cracked the dark space, and Ultimate Bliss Heaven shattered.

Ch. 103I Would Call This the Dark Bible

Fang Cheng defeated Edo Reina, learned how the cult’s Word Spirit Art consumed life force, and took the Black Bible for further study. He urged Sato Hayato to recover his resolve so he could be there for his missing sister, Sato Mai.

  • Fang Cheng woke from Ultimate Bliss Heaven, overpowered Edo Reina, and demanded the location of the Day of Divine Descent ritual.
  • Edo Reina refused to cooperate, so Fang Cheng killed her and absorbed Word Spirit Art, Life fragments, and Pre-warning fragments.
  • Fang Cheng realized that Word Spirit Art consumed life force and lifespan, then took the Black Bible and decided not to use the ability until he could address its risks.
  • Sato Hayato thanked Fang Cheng after seeing his parents’ bodies, and Fang Cheng asked whether he still wanted to save Sato Mai.
  • Fang Cheng told Sato Hayato to pull himself together and be someone his sister could rely on, and Sato Hayato tearfully agreed.

Ch. 106Chapter 106

After Sato Hayato awakened a powerful psychic ability, he joined Fang Cheng on the search for his kidnapped sister, Sato Mai. They investigated Asaka Akie's empty home, where Fang Cheng found a hidden notebook that might offer a clue to the ritual.

  • Fang Cheng took the grieving Sato Hayato to Takeda Masumi for protection, but Sato revealed that he had awakened the ability to move glass.
  • Sato insisted on helping rescue Sato Mai, and Fang Cheng agreed after warning him about the danger.
  • Fang Cheng and Sato rode to Asaka Akie's home before daybreak to search for clues about the ritual and the missing girls.
  • Fang Cheng found a painting that suggested Asaka Akie's mother was a follower of the Ultimate Bliss Cult, then searched Asaka's room for her diary.
  • Fang Cheng tore open Asaka's pillow and found a notebook hidden inside.

Ch. 107There's No Time to Explain

Fang Cheng learned from Asaka Akie's notebook that the Ultimate Bliss Cult had manipulated her grief and guilt into undergoing painful trials, and he hurried to confront the cult. He reached Nangong Saya’s repair shop and asked Takeda Masumi to enlist her help.

  • Fang Cheng read Asaka Akie's notebook, which explained that a cult member had convinced Akie's family to take on her illness and later promised to resurrect her dead father and younger brother if she became a Saintess.
  • Asaka Akie wrote that she blamed herself for her family's suffering, warned Fang Cheng to stay away, and confessed she might have accepted him if he had treated her sincerely.
  • Fang Cheng brought the notebook and Vajra Pestle with him, then had Sato Hayato drive them to Nangong Saya's auto repair shop.
  • Nangong Saya gathered her nervous underlings when Fang Cheng arrived, and he called Takeda Masumi to ask her to speak with Saya.
  • Nangong Saya answered Fang Cheng's phone and was shocked to hear Takeda Masumi's voice.

Ch. 108A Thief with a Positive Attitude

Fang Cheng enlisted Nangong Saya to help search for Asaka Akie and Sato Mai after learning they had left with Grandma Matsuda, who was involved in the Ultimate Bliss Cult’s sacrifice plan. With the car’s trail lost in the suburbs, Nangong Saya gathered her people to search while Fang Cheng took Sato Hayato elsewhere and bought catnip.

  • Nangong Saya told Fang Cheng she had moved out of Grandma Matsuda’s home and knew little about what had happened there.
  • Komatsu Yukikawa said he had seen Grandma Matsuda leave around five with a sickly-looking woman, and Fang Cheng identified the woman as likely Asaka Akie’s mother.
  • Takeda Masumi reported that the car had driven into an unmonitored suburban area, leaving its trail cold.
  • Nangong Saya offered to search for Asaka because she cared about her, and she and Fang Cheng reconciled before she sent her people to the suburbs.
  • Fang Cheng took Sato Hayato to a supermarket and bought more than a dozen packets of catnip, saying he planned to seduce house cats.

Ch. 109The Dumb-Haired King Says, “Now That's How It's Done”

Fang Cheng took Sato Hayato to meet Tsukikage Hoshi and asked her about the Ultimate Bliss Cult. She explained how to stop the God Descent Ritual and revealed that the cult was manufacturing Holy Seeds, while Fang Cheng still raced to locate his captured friends.

  • Fang Cheng brought Sato Hayato to the izakaya and used Catnip to persuade the cat-eared girl to let them see Tsukikage Hoshi.
  • Tsukikage Hoshi confirmed her knowledge of the Ultimate Bliss Cult but said locating Fang Cheng's captured friends would take two hours after he narrowed down their route.
  • Tsukikage Hoshi explained that the ritual could be stopped by closing the gate to Ultimate Bliss Heaven or destroying the Holy Grail.
  • Fang Cheng asked how the cult found so many girls with Dual Personality to use as Saintesses.
  • Tsukikage Hoshi revealed that the Ultimate Bliss Cult manufactured Holy Seeds itself.

Ch. 110Cat Delivery—Always on a Mission

Tsukikage Hoshi explained how the Ultimate Bliss Cult created Holy Seeds and revealed that Asaka Akie’s suffering had been engineered by the cult. After learning that the cult’s base was in Yatsumachi, Fang Cheng and Sato Hayato raced there in Tsukikage Hatsuka’s catnip-fueled sports car, where Fang Cheng told Sato to take off his clothes.

  • Tsukikage Hoshi explained that the Ultimate Bliss Cult created Holy Seeds by traumatizing girls with dual personalities and said recently captured girls could be used as backup sacrifices.
  • Fang Cheng learned that the car carrying the captives had been seen heading toward Yatsumachi, and Tsukikage Hoshi identified Saedogi Gymnasium as the cult’s base, where the Archbishop would lead the ritual.
  • Tsukikage Hoshi arranged a ride, and Fang Cheng and Sato Hayato found Tsukikage Hatsuka waiting in a sports car after taking the catnip.
  • Tsukikage Hatsuka drove recklessly to Yatsumachi in under thirty minutes, leaving Sato Hayato vomiting after the trip.
  • Fang Cheng told Sato Hayato to take off his clothes, startling both Sato and Tsukikage Hatsuka.

Ch. 111It Feels Like I Just Ate a Mouthful of Shit

Fang Cheng and Sato Hayato infiltrated the Ultimate Bliss Cult’s headquarters in Yatsumachi to find the God Descent Ritual and rescue Sato Mai. They reached the ritual as Sato Mai appeared among the Saintesses.

  • Fang Cheng exchanged clothes with Sato Hayato and entered Yatsumachi with him, while Tsukikage Hatsuka waited outside.
  • Fang Cheng used an old map and his Advanced Olfaction to locate the ritual at Saedogi Gymnasium, then knocked out two cultists and took their robes with Sato Hayato.
  • Fang Cheng and Sato Hayato followed the cultists to the basketball court, where Archbishop Mizuma Atsushi presided over the ritual before hundreds of worshippers.
  • Ten veiled Saintesses entered the court, and Sato Mai soon joined them.

Ch. 112A Cult That Keeps Up with the Times

Sato Mai was forced to take part in the Ultimate Bliss Cult’s God Descent Ritual, where sacrifices opened a gateway to Heaven and two believers were chosen to enter. As the cultists prepared to send the Saintesses through the Blood Pool, Sato Mai struggled and cried for help while everyone ignored her.

  • Sato Mai was brought to the Blood Pool with ten puppet-like Saintesses and collapsed in terror at the sight of bodies floating in the blood.
  • Mizuma Atsushi unveiled the Holy Grail, and naked devotees entered the Blood Pool as sacrifices for the ritual.
  • The cultists chanted along with a recorded bell as the Holy Grail rose, filled with blood, and opened a gateway to Heaven.
  • Two golden beams selected believers from the crowd, and armed cultists escorted them away as the others watched jealously.
  • Mizuma Atsushi ordered the Saintesses to ascend, and cultists pushed the crying Sato Mai toward the Blood Pool while she called for her family.

Ch. 113The Peerless Assassin—Going All In, No Holds Barred

Fang Cheng and Sato Hayato stormed the Ultimate Bliss Cult’s God Descent Ritual to rescue Sato Mai, but the cultists surrounded them and attacked. Fang Cheng killed the armed cultists in the hall, leaving the stunned congregation facing him as the battle continued.

  • Fang Cheng and Sato Hayato were stopped at the basketball court entrance, but Sato Hayato recognized Sato Mai’s voice and rushed inside.
  • Fang Cheng shot the guards, forced open the gate, and followed Sato Hayato into the ritual hall.
  • Sato Hayato spotted Sato Mai and charged toward her, while Fang Cheng stopped him from being struck by a knife and attacked the Holy Grail with a blood javelin.
  • Mizuma Atsushi deflected the javelin and ordered the Cult Guards to kill Fang Cheng and Sato Hayato.
  • Fang Cheng shielded Sato Hayato from gunfire, killed the cultists’ gunmen, then used blood threads and blades to bisect more than eighty attackers.
  • The cultists in the stands stared in shock as Fang Cheng stood alone amid the fallen Cult Guards.

Ch. 114I Can Swear It on Your God

Fang Cheng fought through the cultists and negotiated with Archbishop Mizuma Atsushi to free Sato Mai, offering an oath that would let both sides leave without further interference. His proposal seemed to trigger a reaction from the Holy Grail above the Blood Pool.

  • Fang Cheng killed over a hundred Cult Guards with his Big Windmill and charged toward the Blood Pool.
  • Mizuma Atsushi opened the Dark Bible and collapsed the ground in Fang Cheng's path, but Fang stopped when a cultist held a knife to Sato Mai's neck.
  • Mizuma Atsushi offered to let Fang Cheng and Sato Hayato leave, but Fang mocked the Ultimate Bliss Cult's decline and demanded Sato Mai's release.
  • Mizuma Atsushi agreed to release Sato Mai if Fang Cheng left, but Fang refused to trust his promise and proposed that they swear oaths on the cult's god.
  • The Holy Grail hovering above the Blood Pool shuddered and rang out as Mizuma Atsushi considered Fang Cheng's proposal.

Ch. 115It Can’t Just Be That I’m Bored and Want to Watch the Fun, Right?

Fang Cheng rescued Sato Mai, then used his oath’s loophole to tell Asaka Akie that the Ultimate Bliss Cult had caused her family’s deaths and that she did not need to sacrifice herself. The oath prevented the cultists from stopping him, and the chapter left Asaka Akie facing a choice while Mizuma Atsushi tried to persuade her.

  • Fang Cheng invoked the Holy Grail oath, convinced Mizuma Atsushi to release Sato Mai, and pulled her across the trench to Sato Hayato.
  • Fang Cheng stopped Sato Mai and Sato Hayato from leaving, then called for Ye Yuqing to let Asaka speak with him.
  • Ye Yuqing put on her glasses, allowing Asaka Akie to take control of their body and speak to Fang Cheng.
  • Fang Cheng told Asaka Akie that the Ultimate Bliss Cult had caused her illness and arranged the deaths of her father and younger brother, so she did not owe them a sacrifice.
  • Asaka Shizuko tried to silence Fang Cheng, but he knocked her unconscious with an empty pistol.
  • Fang Cheng asked Asaka Akie whether she wanted to die or leave with him, while Mizuma Atsushi failed to interrupt him and tried to persuade her instead.

Ch. 116The Difference

Fang Cheng tried to rescue Asaka Akie and destroy the Holy Grail during the Ultimate Bliss Cult’s ritual. Akie chose to live and called for him to take her with him, but Mizuma Atsushi’s Word Spirit Arts trapped Fang Cheng in an illusion and impaled him with steel bars.

  • Fang Cheng challenged Asaka Akie to choose what she truly wanted, and she broke through her guilt and conditioning to shout that she wanted him to take her with him.
  • Fang Cheng attacked the Holy Grail with a blood javelin, but Mizuma Atsushi deflected it and ordered his followers to kill him.
  • Fang Cheng dodged a rifle shot, killed the gunman and four cultists with blood weapons, and advanced toward the Blood Pool.
  • Mizuma Atsushi used Heavy Pressure, Crushing Doom, Collapse, and Bind to stop Fang Cheng, who escaped by swinging on blood threads.
  • Mizuma Atsushi cast Ultimate Bliss Heaven, trapping Fang Cheng in an illusion, then used Pierce the Heart to drive steel bars through his chest.

Ch. 117It Hasn’t Even Been Three Seconds Yet

Fang Cheng killed Mizuma Atsushi and destroyed the Holy Grail, ending the ritual and dispelling the Evil God Projection. A collapsing black hole then pulled Fang Cheng and the returning Asaka Akie inside, and it vanished with them.

  • Fang Cheng survived the steel bars, killed Mizuma Atsushi, and triggered the appearance of an Evil God Projection as Mizuma Atsushi sacrificed himself and the cultists.
  • Ye Yuqing led the Saintesses toward the exit, while Koma carried the exhausted Sato Hayato out and Fang Cheng faced the projection.
  • The projection's gaze killed Fang Cheng once, but he revived, used the Vajra Pestle to withstand its attacks, and destroyed the Holy Grail.
  • The projection disappeared, but a black hole began pulling Fang Cheng toward it, and Asaka Akie returned to grab the rope and help him.
  • Asaka Akie refused to let go as the rope broke, and the black hole pulled both her and Fang Cheng inside before vanishing.

Ch. 118This Woman’s Been Secretly Peeping at Me

Fang Cheng broke free of the transmigration illusion in Ultimate Bliss Heaven and learned that Isis had been inside him and secretly watching him. He remained unsure where Asaka Akie was, while Isis’s presence and motives were still unclear.

  • Fang Cheng fought the blonde woman Isis in the courtyard, and she tapped his forehead, shattering the memories of his current life.
  • Fang Cheng remembered his past lives and realized the scene had been an illusion after he was sucked into a Black Hole.
  • Fang Cheng recognized Blood Queen Isis and asked where they were and what had happened to Asaka Akie.
  • Isis explained that they were in Ultimate Bliss Heaven, the territory of the Twin Gods, and hinted that Fang Cheng should guess why she was there.
  • Fang Cheng deduced that Isis had been inside his body and that the Vampire traits he showed had belonged to her.
  • Isis admitted she had watched him in private, and Fang Cheng realized she had been spying on him while he showered and played games.

Ch. 119But I’m Having a Blast

Fang Cheng learned from Isis that the Evil God Izanae had trapped him in desire-filled hallucinations as a test, but he chose to face the next world with a plan of his own. Izanae watched from afar, eager to see what he would do.

  • Isis explained that Fang Cheng had to recognize and resist the hallucinations to pass Izanae’s test, and warned that he would die if he failed.
  • Fang Cheng questioned Isis about her identity and motives, and she revealed she was a fragment left by her true self to watch over him.
  • Isis told Fang Cheng that Izanae had dragged him into the test because he destroyed the Holy Grail, and that Izanae had been experiencing the hallucinations alongside him for fun.
  • Fang Cheng decided he could choose the next hallucination and wondered whether he could make Izanae herself give up; he then agreed to face the test again.
  • Isis withdrew her power and let Fang Cheng return to the hallucination, while Izanae watched from a high-rise, curious about his plan.

Ch. 120Jashin-chan’s Wondrous Journey to Another World

Fang Cheng passed Isis’s test after the Evil God subjected him and Izanae to a series of melodramatic romance worlds. Isis revealed that Fang Cheng’s stories had disgusted the Evil God into leaving, and he celebrated his success.

  • Izanae experienced a Republic-era love triangle in which Fang Cheng played an unfaithful reporter, and the story ended with Izanae killing her sister and sailing away with Fang Cheng’s severed head.
  • In a modern city, Izanae played a cleaning lady entangled with Fang Cheng’s unfaithful CEO through decades of breakups, illness, and tragedy, ending with her jumping from a seaside cliff.
  • In another world, Izanae endured her husband Fang Cheng’s affair with Pinru and his mother’s abuse before she miscarried and was committed to a mental hospital.
  • Izanae raised seven troubled children alone after Fang Cheng abandoned her, then died of cancer with none of them at her side.
  • Fang Cheng came to his senses in a garden and asked Isis whether he had passed the test; she confirmed it and said he was the first person to disgust an Evil God into leaving.

Ch. 121As Long as I’m Not Embarrassed, Everyone Else Is

After Evil God Sauce ended the first test, Isis warned Fang Cheng that he had to look at Izanae without falling in love with her. As Izanae’s allure overwhelmed him before he could even see her face, Fang Cheng enlisted Isis to create Eve to help him resist the temptation.

  • Evil God Sauce called off the first test after enduring dozens of melodramatic love stories, and Fang Cheng asked Isis about the next challenge.
  • Isis explained that Fang Cheng had to look at Izanae without falling in love, warning that anyone who fell for the goddess became her puppet.
  • Fang Cheng walked along a garden path toward Izanae, but her unseen presence already filled him with overwhelming lust.
  • Fang Cheng called Isis out of his shadow and asked her to help him indirectly with his plan to pass the test.
  • Isis created a beautiful woman from a drop of blood and introduced her as Eve, whom Fang Cheng could use.

Ch. 122To Rush Is to Be Empty; to Be Empty Is to Rush

Fang Cheng passed Izanae’s test and received the Evil God’s Gift, but remained trapped in the domain with Isis. Suspecting Izanae wanted him to kill her, he confronted Isis about her motives and attacked her, only for her to let his spear pierce her chest.

  • Fang Cheng endured the sight of Izanae, after which she vanished and he received the Evil God’s Gift, granting strong resistance to mental attacks while increasing his affinity with the Evil God.
  • Fang Cheng and Isis realized Izanae had not released him and suspected she wanted him to kill Isis as one last amusement.
  • Fang Cheng told Isis he wanted to know her motives and offered to coexist peacefully, but she challenged him to take the truth from her.
  • Fang Cheng attacked Isis with blood blades, while she dodged and claimed she would easily defeat him in the real world.
  • Fang Cheng warned Isis that Izanae was suppressing her power, then thrust a blood spear at her as she moved into its path and let it pierce her chest.

Ch. 123The Version Has Been Updated

Fang Cheng received Isis’s powers after she chose to die, then found Asaka Akie reborn in a sea of flowers. The two returned from Ultimate Bliss Heaven to a wrecked basketball court, where Asaka accepted Fang Cheng despite his inhuman nature.

  • Isis impaled herself, embraced Fang Cheng, and said she wanted to merge with him before dissolving into sand and leaving him her power.
  • Fang Cheng gained five extra lives, Shadow Dweller, and increased proficiency in his vampire abilities, then formed a blood bodysuit with his improved control.
  • Fang Cheng found Asaka Akie naked and wounded among flowers as petals merged into her body and restored her.
  • Asaka Akie awoke and clung to Fang Cheng before the two were expelled from Ultimate Bliss Heaven into a wrecked basketball court.
  • Fang Cheng made clothes for Asaka Akie from his blood, and she told him she accepted him no matter what he was.

Ch. 124Women Only Get in the Way of My Relationship with Fang Cheng

After Fang Cheng and Asaka Akie escaped the cult’s ritual, they found Asaka Shizuko dying from the loss of her lifespan, and Asaka Akie said goodbye to her mother. Fang Cheng left the gymnasium with Akie and her mother’s coffin, where Sato Hayato and Sato Mai were waiting.

  • Fang Cheng recovered the broken Vajra Pestle, the split Holy Grail, fragments, and Mizuma Atsushi’s Golden Rod, gaining four extra lives.
  • Asaka Shizuko briefly regained her senses, apologized to Asaka Akie, and died in her daughter’s arms.
  • Fang Cheng found that Grandma Matsuda had also died after her lifespan was drained, then sealed Asaka Shizuko’s body in a blood coffin.
  • Fang Cheng and Asaka Akie left the gymnasium and met Sato Hayato and Sato Mai outside.
  • Sato Hayato recognized the closeness between Fang Cheng and Asaka Akie and decided to keep his distance from her.

Ch. 125Real Men Should Pet Cats

Fang Cheng escaped Yatsumachi with Sato Mai, Sato Hayato, and Asaka Akie, then reported his victory over the Ultimate Bliss Cult to Takeda Masumi. He met Tsukikage Hatsuka, who offered to buy the cult’s valuable relics, and left the Vajra Pestle in his possession after learning it was worth little.

  • Fang Cheng called Takeda Masumi to report that he had disrupted the Ultimate Bliss Cult’s God Descent Ritual and killed its Archbishop, and she agreed to try to claim the merit without revealing his identity.
  • Fang Cheng drove away with Sato Mai, Sato Hayato, and grieving Asaka Akie, leaving the Saintesses at the gymnasium for Takeda Masumi’s people to handle.
  • Fang Cheng found Tsukikage Hatsuka asleep as a cat in her sports car and petted her until she woke and transformed into a woman.
  • Fang Cheng showed Tsukikage Hatsuka the Holy Grail, the Little Gold Rod, and the Vajra Pestle, and she agreed to buy the first two.
  • Tsukikage Hatsuka said the Vajra Pestle was probably gold-plated and offered only scrap-metal prices, so Fang Cheng kept it.

Ch. 126Let's Blow Up Balloons

Fang Cheng sold the Holy Grail and Vajra Pestle through Tsukikage Hatsuka, then discovered his motorcycle had been stolen outside her Izakaya. After leaving, he questioned Asaka Akie about Ultimate Bliss Heaven and learned Ye Yuqing was still present, ending with Ye Yuqing abruptly withdrawing when Fang Cheng teased her.

  • Tsukikage Hatsuka confirmed the Holy Grail was pure gold, and Fang Cheng handed her the Grail and Vajra Pestle for appraisal.
  • Fang Cheng asked whether Hatsuka's Izakaya was the Fox Immortal House, but she denied it and refused to help him find the place.
  • Fang Cheng and Hatsuka returned to Flower Street and found his motorcycle stolen; Hatsuka insisted the shop would find it and recover its reputation.
  • Fang Cheng invited Hatsuka to his home for a meal, hoping to befriend her, and drove away with Asaka Akie and the exhausted Sato siblings.
  • Fang Cheng asked Asaka Akie about Ultimate Bliss Heaven, and she said she had received no blessing, though her appearance had improved; he worried Izanae's gift might have a hidden cost.
  • Asaka Akie revealed Ye Yuqing was still present, and Fang Cheng's balloon joke made Ye Yuqing immediately withdraw.

Ch. 127Only This Place Can Bring People a Little Warmth

After rescuing the Sato Siblings, Fang Cheng brought them to the Training Ground and stayed with Asaka Akie while she arranged her mother’s cremation. While Akie leaned on him for comfort, Fang Cheng spotted ghosts in the crematorium corridor and drove off a ghost boy and his mother with his Vajra Pestle.

  • Fang Cheng left the Sato Siblings in Takeda Masumi’s care at the Training Ground, where Asaka Akie resolved to live for herself and pursue him.
  • Fang Cheng called Nangong Saya to thank her for helping find the siblings and considered building a network of allies for future trouble.
  • Fang Cheng took Akie to cremate Asaka Shizuko’s remains, and she leaned against him as they waited.
  • Fang Cheng used Undead Vision to spot ghosts in the corridor and struck a ghost boy with his Vajra Pestle after popping his ball.
  • The ghost boy’s mother retreated into a wall when Fang Cheng threatened her, and Akie clung to him after he told her ghosts were nearby.
