Uchiha Qingfeng figured it didn't matter if Little Nine-Tails was gone. The Nine-Tails' main body was in Konoha, so he could find it again whenever he wanted. But the Six-Tails was different.

The Six-Tails Jinchuriki was a Rogue Ninja from Mist Village, making his home all across the Ninja World. Finding him would take quite a bit of effort. Now that there was an opportunity, he absolutely could not let it slip away.

So Uchiha Qingfeng did not stay behind at the battlefield to search for Little Nine-Tails. Instead, he followed the receding Tailed Beast Chakra fluctuations.
