Negotiating a Resolution

Uchiha Qingfeng did not show the slightest bit of humility. His words left Genshi at a loss for how to respond, forcing him to change the subject again.

"Uchiha Qingfeng, this isn't the first time we've dealt with each other. I trust you understand what Hidden Mist is like. If we didn't want to settle this peacefully with you, we wouldn't have gone to such lengths to wait for you in a place like this."

That was certainly a fine use of waiting for prey at the stump.

"So how exactly do you intend to settle this peacefully? Are you really willing to give me a Tailed Beast? You have no idea—it's like asking for the Hokage's life whenever I ask him for the Nine-Tails."

Genshi grumbled inwardly. Wasn't that because you stole the Nine-Tails?

Genshi felt that he had seen through Uchiha Qingfeng's character completely. He was powerful, greedy for wealth, and would stop at nothing to obtain whatever he wanted. Not even his teacher could stop him.

His resolve was extraordinarily firm. Otherwise, he would not have betrayed the Leaf Village that had raised him.

Now that Uchiha Qingfeng had set his sights on a Tailed Beast, either he would wreak havoc and take the Three-Tails away, leaving Hidden Mist badly battered, or they could settle matters peacefully and perhaps Hidden Mist could even gain something from it.

As for driving back the previous group that had come to capture the Tailed Beast, that had merely been meant to demonstrate Hidden Mist's stance. Stances were meant to be seen by others. It had also displayed Hidden Mist's strength and increased their bargaining chips. They could not let others look down on them.

Even so, they had nearly failed to hold them back. If the Fourth Mizukage had not
