Background / History

Shen Xing transmigrated into the body of another Shen Xing approximately five months before the opening events. He inherited the original owner’s memories, artistic technique, wooden-carving shop, and unresolved attachment to Ye Ting, the original owner’s missing fiancée. The original Shen Xing had searched for Ye Ting for three years before attempting suicide with a carving knife; after the transmigration, Shen Xing’s wrist wound healed without leaving a scar. 1 5

He runs Tingwu Shop on Chunyu Street, producing handmade carvings and accepting custom commissions. He also introduces anime-style carvings based on works from his previous world, building a modest following among younger customers. 8 27

A commission from his former classmate Hong Anjie brings him into contact with the Fake Hong Bin anomaly. When a wooden bust captures the entity, Shen Xing awakens the Woodcarving System and begins using carvings, observation, and written deduction to identify, contain, and absorb anomalies. 1 4 6

After Lin Wanru’s death, Shen Xing confronts her reanimated corpse and the Blood Pupil controlling it. He carves the entity, withstands its mental pressure, survives a violent attack involving a possessed mangy dog, and later absorbs Blood Pupil’s traits to gain Strange Pupil. 11 12 17 24 43

Skin Face Incident

While pursuing an anomaly resembling Song Xiaoyu, Shen Xing identifies symptoms including scalp itching, accelerated hair growth, possession, and infection. He locks Skin Face at 95% understanding, later completes its carving, and gains Face Swap through absorption. 29 32 39 42 46

Adoption and Cooperation

Shen Xing decides to adopt Lin Feifei and receives approval for the adoption. At the same time, he agrees to cooperate with the Special Case Investigation Unit, viewing the arrangement as a practical way to investigate Ye Ting’s disappearance. 24 47
